99 yukon battery will not stay charged brand new battery

Take it back to the shop who did the work an have them check it .

does the engine turn over? have you checked the starter motor?

check all earth wires

Check the charging relay if working. You can find it in the fuse box which is either in the engine compartment or under the dashboard on the drivers side legroom.

Alternator ? is the charging light of your car stays on ?

The 60amp fuse probably is in the circuit between the alternator and the battery. Which would be why the battery is not getting charged.
Someone would need to check for a short in the wiring between the alternator and the battery.

i would suppose, your lights and such should dim out eventually since its running on power from your battery.

Your battery will not take a charge - replace it.

I had problems with my remote button, with battery fully charged turn on key for ten second, turn key off un-hook positve side of battery, re conect turn key to on postion then try to start, it worked for me I have a 2003 denali yukon XL, the motor would fire then stop.

1st thing to check would be the alternator, to make sure it's charging the battery. If it's not, the red battery light would come on. Most major parts stores offer free battery and charging system checks, they can tell you if the alternator is not charging. Have it checked asap, as the new battery will be dead soon if it's not being charged. countrycurt0
