Cant pick up speed very fast - 2002 Toyota ECHO

Sounds like a transmission problem, specifically that perhaps the transmission fluid is low if your truck has an automatic transmission, or the clutch is slipping terribly if it has a manual transmission.

It can be a simple fuel filter problem. When the throttle is floored the dirt and rust may block the fuel passage way. One good reason why it stalls. I strongly suggest that you have it replaced and observe how it goes.

There may be a problem in combustion unit. If the fuel supply to the combustion unit is not perfect, you will not get a sudden pick up. Try to fix these problems to get a better drive. Majority of vehicles have a magnetic pick-up right behind the brake rotor. It picks up this signal from a metal disc with perforation. It has to know how fast or slow it's spinning and sending that data back to the ABS control module. It could also use the disc brake rotor too picking the signal from the top edge (I'm just guessing on that set up although possible). It has two wires coming out from it. Some cars have a brake pad wear sensor that has two wires coming out of the brake pads, so don't confuse this as an ABS pick up. It could also be called a wheel speed sensor.

check your trans fluid level if that is fine it could be you need to change the fluid and filter in it or your bands could be out of adjustment or your clutches could be slipping hope this will help you

Throttle sensor may be bad, does it gradually pick up in speed, how fast can you go, does it stall out ect.

probable will need the multifuction switch replaced

check idle speed sensor and map sensor

maybe your cats are clogged

whens the last time you had a tune up, plugs and wires could solve this problem.
