The 1391 most likely is the cam sensor or crank sensor, crank sens is located in the bell housing on the pass side and I believe the cam sensor is in the distributor, 740 is a TCC (Torque Convertor Control) performance code. The crankshaft sensor is my 1st choice, TCC performance is calculated comparing engine speed to vehicle speed.

Why is my check engine bringing up code po740 and won't go away and stay away

PO740 = Torque Converter Circuit Malfunction

Check all of the torque converter's electric connections--especially on that solenoid (but not just that part). It could be the transmission speed sensor. Just check from the transmission to the fuse box to make sure that the electric circuits have solid connectivity. Don't let oil short it out.

Can this code po740 be fixed without taking the trainny apart

When you disconnect the connector for this part, remember to have the computer cleared if the check light is on. Use an Ohmmeter and test the continuity of the wires going to the internal parts. If there is continuity check the plug connector for corrosion as it may just have lost the connection in the joint. WD40 may help.

If you ask your question for the swap then go to Howtodothings.com and ask how to install this switch. It will tell you. Seems that it is a teardown that you have to lift the motor to do.
