SOURCE: starter motor whines but wont engage with engine on my rover P2

You will need a new starter rebuilt ect. to replace the one you currently have that is defective. you sound like you are spinning the starter motor but the starter bendix is no longer engaging the flexplate/flywheel on the engine.

Why my range rover classic tdi 5 speed manual the gearbox getting very hot ?

check the oil level and the type of oil in the gear box. If too much oil -that will make it hot. If too little oil -that will make it hot. IF the oil is not right viscosity -that will make it hot. get a infrared thermometer and read the gear box temperature to get an idea of the oil temperature as what feels hot on the stick may be operating temperature of the oil

Looking for the electric gear box on 2000 land rover

What electronic gearbox ? there will iether be a manual transmission ( thats where you can change gear using a clutch, thats the extra pedal on the left) or you have an automatic transmission( thats where you have a lever thats allows you to put it into R, D etc and DOES NOT have an extra peda) these gearboxes are not electronic, they are driven by oil pressure. What will you do when you find the ........ gearbox ?

Oil coming out of gearbox apparently on 05 freelander td4. do I require a new gearbox or can this be fixed?

That depends from where the leak is coming: it can be as simple as an loose drain plug, could get worse if it's a worn seal or can be terminal if the gearbox's case is fissured. Put the SUV on stands, clean the gearbox, start the engine at idle, put it into a gear (3 or 4 will do) and look from where the oil is coming.

Range Rover Vogue 1989 model 3.5l V8 fuel injected, with Automatic gearbox. I need the type of engine, gearbox, transfer box,and differential oil to be used on this vehicle. As well as the...

use 15w-40 for the engine, ATF for the gearbox and 80w-90 for the diffs and transfer box. engine and gearbox have dipsticks for the levels, the diffs and transfer box have removable plugs for level checking, fill until the fluid comes out the level plug.

Constant pulsing lights and a mesage that says check manual

Check the gearbox oil level with the engine running at the filler plug on the gearbox rhs.Fluid should just drip out when it's warm(not hot)refill if nothing comes out.If this is fine , have someone read fault codes on the gearbox , the temp. sensor could be faulty.
