I have a 95 ford courier 2.6l efi and it just won't start in the mornings when around 10-15 degrees it cranks and every now and then it will fire once and then won't fire at all. 2 mornings in a row I've sat it in the sun bonnet up and after about 1-2 hours it will fire and run first kick of the key. I've replaced plugs, fuel filter, air filter.

SOURCE: 1998 s-10 2.2l intermittent hard start

because you said it sounds like timing problems i may have an idea. i dont remeber if these have a distributer? but its common for the distributer on the newer GM trucks and i dont know why but its like the spark jumps around inside causing incorrect firing order when trying to start and just gets worse and worse. remove and inspect for build on on rotor and tabs on distributer.

and get back to me with problem

SOURCE: 1999 Cadillac Catera - 103,000 miles - cranks but no fire

Hello carol...from the symptons you describe more than likely it's the CPS (crankshaft position sensor.)
The CPS is a common problem on Cateras with these symptoms.
The sensor is a magnetic impulse type that sends a signal to the computer, the computer then triggers the fire signal. When the CPS gets weak, dirty or has low voltage the intermitten no starts occur. It will finally result in a no start at all...Please be aware that a lot of caddy dealers will and have overcharged customers for this common problem by ill advise and replaceing uneeded componets.
Good luck...i hope this helps and will fixya up.

Good day,I have lancer 95 efi.I am having trouble with the timing of crank and cam. I need specific steps to get it to start without misfires. my crank sprocket is already pointing to its mark.

Did you check the spark plug cables? Are the spark plug cables are in proper firing order? Check the cable for slight
crack or sliced. For firing orders of the cable, example are
1342, 1432 etc. Better refer to your car manual. It is difficult
start without misfires if cable or sequence has a problem.

95 Chevrolet Silverado 5.7 v8, turns over but wont fire up.

Check the connection on the temperature sending unit/sensor on the engine. If it's disconnected the computer won't put it in cold start mode. If it's carbureted instead of EFI then the choke is not coming on. It's an electric actuated choke and the wire could have come off the blade/pin while driving the day before.

Did you check the fuel pump relay ? The relay gets power from a fuse and also from the PCM relay. The computer grounds the relay to turn it on for 3 seconds when you turn the key on, then only after the computer "sees" RPM or oil pressure.

95 mustang won't start,

If it's getting fire and fuel would suggest timing issue. Maybe check crank and cam sensors. Getting any check engine light?

How to adjust distributor that is 180 degrees off

If you know for sure it is 180 degrees off, you can take the distributor out and turn the rotor 180 degrees, or move the plug wires around the cap 180 degrees.
