Car won't start. Snow chain ( asr) switch lights up red. Only happens when I lock/unlock car via trunk. Disconnected battery and no result. Took out all fuses one by one and the car started but now it's back to not starting. Seems to be some kind of weird alarm/trunk issue. Also now the light wont shut off in car. 1995 e320

These cars before 1996 suffer with bad wiring.I would check and see if wiring was updated.

SOURCE: Car alarm stopped working.. Car wont start

the jetta has a faulty alarm system from the factory i have been working on one in my shop. the alarm moddule is inside the dash behind the light switch and has a 10 pin connector and a 6 pin connector. this can be bypassed if you disconnect both connectors and jump the two large wire on the 6 pin connectors, these wires operate your starter. the car will start and run but your alarm will no longer be active. the door locks and everthing else will still work. the only issue i am having is the factory radio isn't working because it is controlled by the alarm. but worse case scenario i can use an aftermarket radio if need be.

SOURCE: Car won't start. Believe kill switch is engaged.

Do you have a chipped key {small black thing in the middle of the key} if not you need to take your registration into the dealer and order a new key.

2011 ford escape limited the remote start stopped workng

Remote starter in valet mode Symptoms: Lock and Unlock buttons work as normal, but pressing Start does not produce any response from the vehicle.
Causes: Someone accidentally pressed the combination of buttons to put the car into valet mode, usually when the remote is in a purse or pocket. Also, many remote car starters will revert to valet mode when the vehicle is disconnected for service.
Hood Pin Has Broken or Failed Symptoms: Pressing Start results in several flashes of the parking lights but no start. If equipped, Lock and Unlock still function.
Cause: In most cases, the under-hood pin switch is broken or corroded.
Remote Control Loses Programming Symptoms: Pressing any button on the remote results in no response from vehicle.
Cause: It is rare, but does happen - in most cases, this is caused by a dead battery in the vehicle or the battery having been disconnected when being serviced.
Remote starters usually have some type of non-volatile memory to retain things like programming features and remote control codes. Like any "computer" device, sometimes they lose memory. When this happens, simply call the store that installed it for you. In some cases, they may be able to tell you how to reprogram it over the phone. Other times, you will have to return to the store for a technician to program it. In any case, this is rare with higher-end remote starters.
Remote is in Second-car Mode Symptoms: Pressing any button on the remote results in no response from vehicle.
Causes: A combination of buttons were accidentally pressed, which put the remote in second-car mode.
Again, this is very rare, but happens from time to time. Many remote car starter remote controls have the ability to start two vehicles. If the remote is accidentally placed into second-car mode, it will not start or operate vehicle #1.
Simply read your owner's manual or call your installer for directions on how to revert the remote back to car #1.

Alarm won't turn off

the valet key doesnt have a transponder chip in it, so it will allow physical turning of keyways and operations, but will not disable the alarm and often wont disable the immobilizer.

sorry to say i think you will need to get an autolocksmith , or main dealer to get you a functioning key with transponder chip mapped to your cars rfid system that will allow alarm to be enabled /disabled

HELP please!! My daughter has a 96 sebring convertible and today she put her key in the door to unlock it and the alarm started going off. It wont stop, have disconnected the positive and negative battery...

Just a quick note once you hook the battery back up try locking it and unlocking it from the drivers door, if that fails you might try the passenger door. I know on some chrysler products you have to lock and lock again to arm and unlock to disarm. I hope this helps.
Thanks,

1999 porsche 996 replaced key fob battery disconnected battery now trunk releses are locked and cant access battery. How do you open frt trunk manually

Assuming the car battery is ok (if not, buy a male to male cigarette lighter at the auto store and connect to another car until charged enough to unlock the doors...but don't try to crank the ignition!). The trunks won't open if the battery went dead with the alarm set because arming the alarm physically locks the releases.

Sounds like the key code is switched off because you replaced the key fob battery. Try unlocking the car manual with the key in the door lock. Then switch the ignition on to reactive the keyless entry. If this does not work, you might also try pressing the fob unlock button with the key in the door lock until the dash led flashes.

2007 vw passat 2.0 tdi Boot lid open itself

My Passat did the same thing for a while. Where do you carry your keys? My key was activating in my pocket over a long range and popping my trunk open. If that isn't a possibility, you can simply lock the truck in via the control switches over the speaker. Just turn the key to locked. Try that if nothing else, just remember to unlock it when you need to us the trunk :)

2002 dodge ram 1500 flashing red light and dead

When you disconnected the battery, you tripped the alarm which locked down everything. In your owners manual, look under the security or alarm system. It will tell you how to disarm your particular alarm system. If I am not mistaken on these you put the key in the drivers door and lock and unlock it 2-3 times. If you do not have the owners manual, you can contact dodge and they will walk you through it.
