Idle Hi, I own a non Turbo 87 rx7. The other day it was running fine, than after i got gas and start it back up, it won't idle unless i keep my foot on the gas pedal, and accelerator is extremely slow, I just replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump. fuel pressure regulator. What else could this problem be? Thanks

I would go with the fuel pump or the IAC (Idle Air Control Valve) Due to the fact that you have to keep the throttle on to keep the vehicle running that would be a sign of a faulty fuel pump or IAC. I would have the mechanic do a little more diagnostics before letting them cut lose on doing just one or the other.

Jeep 2002 grand cherokee dies unless i keep foot on the gas...

The idle relearn needs reset. Keep your foot on the gas at about 900 rpm. Make it idle for about 5-6 minutes. Slowly ease up on the gas until it will idle on it's own, it might take a while. After you get it to idle, it might be idling real low, but on its own, Let it sit and idle until for 20 minutes. After that it should be back to normal. You will have to do this every time you have the battery unhooked for a while.

87 RX7 - smoking exhast for several miles then stops

well, when you turn off the rotary it leaves oil and gas.so when you start it up, it burns off the oil you left causeing blueish smoke. same problem with flooding, when you drive short distance , warmup incorrectly or if use synthetic oil.to fix the cause of flooding(i have the same vehicle and problems)let it warm up for at least 15 min.there is also a fuel pump wire next to the fuse box located above the brake pedal.then you tap a switch from the fuel pump to your interior.the reoson being is so whenever you come to a stop to park flip the swith.that allows the rotar to burn the fuel left in the pump witch will make your rx7 to stutter out and die.when you start it back up ,flip the swicth back on and it will take an extra second for it to crank over.1 more thing, check your oil every 2-3 fills on gas and change oil every 2000 miles.also redline it at least one a week. i hope i just solved your problem because i love my 87 non turbo and know how you feel.if you want to look at cheap aftermarket parts for rx7 then go to srmotorsports.com/rx7guru.com is a guy that test parts to tell people wats good and cheap for rx7s.i would recomend roll cage and 5 point harness-seats.good luck with your rx7 bro

1985 rx7 13b will not hold idle

A large rubber hose feeds air to the large block with "RE-EGI" cast into it. Between that intake hose and the RE-EGI block, called the dynamic chamber, is the throttle valve. You can adjust the idle speed by adjusting a screw in the top of the throttle valve to 800 rpm.

rx7`s should rev to 3000 when started cold then it should settle to 750 to 1000 after about 30 to 60 seconds.
mine suffers a similar problem. so far I have been told various answers, mostly involving the bac valve, lambda sensor, air flow meter, etc. try starting of by adjusting the idle adjust screw (on top of the throttle body under plastic cover) this may be all it is. I have not had time to do mine. Its been fine otherwise and idles fine after a few minutes. mine is non turbo 87.
