after changing the battery use a scanner to reset the CPU program as it appears corrupted.

disconnecting the battery some times corrupts the CPU program and seldom achieves much . Use a code reader to reset the CPU and the alarm

Is possibly a grounding issue. Is it possible that they can try to re-flash/reprogram the ECU first to see if that addresses the issue?

The engine light is telling you that the CPU has found
sensor/s outside set parameters during the checking process. Have the fault codes read before wasting time and money guessing what has failed. Replace with genuine items only as aftermarket units are not always compatible with the
settings in the CPU.

the flashing and stopping is a code if you look in manual it will show you what code it is count the flashs between the stop and look it up or try disconnecting battery for 5 minutes the reconnect this should reset cpu then if it does this again have it diagnosed on computer to see what fault it is

Take it to a local parts store that test the cpu and it should give you a some awnsers weather its a cpu or a wireing issue

it was the IAT Sensor (Intake Air Temperature)!!!!!! the check engine light is out and the car is running great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$450 plus they wanted another $200 to send the CPU and instrument cluster back to the factory to be "re-flashed". They didn't get the extra $200

Usually if you replace a battery, you have to re-flash the C.P.U..

The problem is that when you take the battery out and replace it, the stereo, alarm, presets for seats, etc, get deleted. You need to go to a Chevy dealer or a shop that can flash the C.P.U. to fix the problem.

Sorry, but that's the "ONLY" fix for your problem.
