I want to put better tires on my 2007 Carrera. The original tires were Continental Z 265/40 in the rear and 225/40 in the front. I want to put Toyo Y 265/35 in the rear and 225/35 front or even 235/35 in the front. Are these tires within spec for my 2007 911
When resizing tires, the best method is +1,-1 or -1, +1. That is, if you add to the width one size (i.e. 235 -> 245), then you need to go down one aspect ratio (i.e. 40 -> 35). So if you run 225/40ZR18 tires and want to keep your speedo accurate, 235/35ZR18 works for a "plus one" and 215/45ZR18 will work for a "minus one" change. This way, your impact on speedometer accuracy is minimal.
Hope this helps,
matt

I have 285/18 on the back and it looks and feels great.. not sure of the pressure I should have though; they say 35 psi but I feel a small 'wandering'; does anyone know what a good psi to minimize the wandering?
