My iDrive is telling me I have a flat tire. None of the tires are flat, but this did happen before. One of the tires was below the recommended PSI and when inflated to the correct pressure the problem went away. Is this a small leak (it has been about 3 weeks or so since the first time)? Or is there a problem with the sensor?
Well it could be a slow leak in your tire however it can also be because of the temperature change.I have seen many of times that tpms lights have come on and only 1 tire would be low.It only takes aproximately 3 pounds of difference in tire pressure to set the light on.You may also check your spare tire also they have sensors too.

Sensor from the flat tire or low tire air pressure is located inside the tire air valve on every tires, you need to check the pressure of your tires ,sometimes low pressure will triger the sensor ,if it didn't solve the problem you need to go to tire shop and tell them to replace the battery.
You can solve this via the iDrive menu>Service>RPA.
There you can select to reinitialize the tire-pressure warning.
You should do that every time after correcting your tire pressure.
Read your instruction manual.
I don`t think you have cv axles in the rear of that.My guess would be wheel bearings could be grinding. Donut spares are strickly to be used for short periods of time and not to be driven at any higher rates of speed. Some damage may have occurred during the actual incident when you had the flat initially.Damage to the rear axle itself,
It either has Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM), or Flat Tire Monitor (FTM)
TPM:Checks the tire inflation pressure in the four mounted tires. The system indicates if the tire inflation pressure has dropped considerably in one or several tires.
FTM:Keeps track of the inflation pressures in the four mounted tires as you drive. The system triggers an alert whenever the inflation pressure drops significantly in relation to the pressure in another tire.
i had a light to come on on my speedometer. Its the light above the gas light. It looks like a triangle with an (!) in the middle. what is the symbol. i don't have a manual
The tire pressure monitor must be reinitialized. There should be a tire button to press and hold or if you have idrive then it will be an option under car settings I think. Your BMW owners manual will have the exact procedure.
the last time I had a flat the tire pressure monitor came on a little too late. once the tire was replaced and brought up to pressure it reset itself. check your spare tire. have the tire that was repaired still has the module on the rim. they may have given you a different rim
there is a reset button for the tpms either just above the accerlator or to the right of the glove box. press it and tah dah....you should be good to go.
