check the fluid level in powering steering pump or if electrical assist look under dash attached to steering column and test motor and connections --have vehicle scanned for the trouble codes the abs and the power steering should pop up with code most auto stores off this service for free --aslo check under vehicle by abs lines and check wiring for damage -----test hubs up front for wear or possible failure

You have electronic power steering. There is no fluid.

Power steering pump not operating also check the pump belt is loose or broken

if you dont have a code reader, the only other way to reset the computer is to disconnect the battery negative terminal and let it sit for a few minutes. If your steering has elec assist there might be a sensor bad did you check the codes in the ecu?

My RX8 had the same problem. First, change your battery cable ends. On the Positive cable there is a white wire that powers the power steering. It probably has a bad connection at the battery post. I cut the end off my rx8 and just put a regular battery cable end on it and my problem was solved.

I would check your power steering fluid level first. If it's full your power steering pump is bad.
