SOURCE: Where do I add power steering fluid?

The power steering pump is in the front of the engine. You will see the serpentine belt on the pulley and it will look something like htis picture. The pump has a resevoir with a cap on top which is removable and has a dipstick built in to tell you how low you are on fluid.

R/F door trim will have to be removed. Most likely you will find linkage disconnected from the inside latch of the outside door handle. You might even find a broken piece of the door handle requiring replacement

SOURCE: Where do you add power steering fluid for a 2000

The power steering filler cap is on the passenger side just behind and under the alternator (I had to use a flashlight to find mine but it's visible if you lean over the front fender - passenger side). . There is a cross brace by the firewall that I had to remove so I could get to the filler cap. The cross brace is held on by 4 nuts - 1/2" or 13mm - and removing them and the brace allows fairly easy access to the filler cap. Remove the cap and fill. I'd recommend using a small funnel since it's virtually impossible to get the power steering fluid bottle behind the alternator and around several hoses. A funnel made it a cinch. Check to be sure you don't over fill, replace the cross brace and you're finished.

My hose blew for my power steering too. It must be under some high pressure but I just looked at which hose was leaking cut off the metal tubing at both ends of the rubber hose and put a high pressure piece of hose on there in place of the old hose. Make sure you use enough clamps on the hose to clamp down on the metal tubing because I made that mistake and it blew off again. It works perfect with two clamps on each end, hasn't gave out yet. :)

My 2003 Buick Regal makes a load whinning sound when I turn. WHat could be causing this?

Hi, it could be a wheel bearing. if you turn left and you hear it it will be your right front bearing and visa-versa. could be the power steering belt that needs replacing, good luck with it.

You maybe blew a hose, did you notice power steering fluid running on the ground? Did you check the fluid level, did the belt come off? You may have to have it towed to a shop, there could be a problem with the rack and pinion.

Power steering fluid leaking;

Fill it up. Have a helper hold the steering wheel to all the way to the stop while you check for leaks. Especially the high pressure hose.

The reservoir should be located under the hood on the passenger side, above serpentine belt. Guide your eyes backwards towards the mid section of the engine on the passenger side. the small reservoir will have a small turn cap on top. (passenger side off vehicle)
