SOURCE: 2001 ford taurus with check engine light on. code

Make sure you replaced the right one there are two sensor's for the coolant, one takes coolant temp and the other one runs the fans for the radiator. Both are located on drivers side of the block. 2 wire leads on each how ever both are different in sending readings to the computer. Both look just alike also. Just make sure you replaced the right one. Or replace both.

I Have a Ford Taurus 2006 when you start this car it dies and I noticed blueish smoke comes from the exhaust and the fuse blows out

Blue smoke on startup is a sign of worn valve stem seals. But worn seals wouldn't cause it to die after starting. Check the engine coolant temp sensor. Take a look at these known issues for Taurus

98 taurus no spark what does it need

Hello1 First make sure that the PCM power fuse is OK...It is located in the Inside Passenger fuse box and is fuse # 10 (20A)...If this fuse proves to be good the most probable cause is the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor (CPS)...See diagram #1 for location and diagram #2 for the sensor....

Engine fan won't come on

IF COOLANT FAN FUSE AND RELAY OKAY.HOT WIRE COOLANT FAN TO SEE IF FAN MOTOR OKAY.IF FAN MOTOR OKAY.THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR MORE LIKELY BAD.THE ENGINE COOLANT SENSOR WHEN ENGINE COOLANT GETS HOT IT CAUSES ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE TO DECREASE CAUSE COMPLETE CIRCUIT IN WHICH POWER FROM PCM TO ECT SENSOR WILL SENT POWER TO COOLANT FAN RELAY THEN CAUSE COOLANT FAN TO TURN ON. HAVE ECT SENSOR OR ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CHECK USING CODE SCANNER TO MAKE SURE ITS WORKING BEFORE SPENDING EXCESS MONEY.

1992 Ford Taurus with a 3.8l V6 the cooling fan

The Taurus has Two temp sensors. One for the dash, which is isolated, then one for the PCM, it also controls when the fan relay should actuate. Its a 2 wire sensor, just above the thermostat. If you remove the harness from that sensor, and the cooling fan comes on, at any temp, (should take 5- 10 seconds) then thats your fault.
