What year a older one or a new model ?please describe shudder a bit better is it shaking the steering wheel or just make the whole car shudder? is it clonking going around corners ?
Testimonial: "Hi There is a knocking noise when you reverse and stop then go forward. The polo is a 2003 model with about 174000km the only owners since new. The shudder seems to be in the body of the car and mot affecting the stearing."
The shudder happens when the motor has torque. accelerating or going uphill. It is a manual gearbox.
lower engine/gearbox mounting i suspect ,one mounting either end but another one at the back underneath look at this one first before you start changing any parts
Hi Colin, turned out to be the inner CV joints, 180000km on them. Thanks anyway
inner CV joints ,well i will eat my hat never had the inner ones play up ,the outer ones yes but the inner ones ,something to store in the back of my nearly worn out old brain

Is it a standard or automatic transmission? If standard, your clutch may be slipping. While driving down a straight road, push the brake while still in gear and push the gas pedal as well. If the engine slows with the vehicle, the clutch isn't slipping. If the engine speeds up while the vehicle is slowing down, the clutch is slipping.
If it is an automatic, check the transmission fluid. You may be low and the transmission is slipping while under load, or the torque converter is slipping for the same reason. You may have a bad torque converter clutch switch, but the computer should have picked that up and made your "Check Engine" light come on.
These are the main reasons you would be losing power going up hills unless your engine isn't powerful enough to handle the larger tires on extreme hills. (It takes more power to turn a larger wheel going up hill since the vehile has to travel further for each revolution of a larger tire. Incidentally, have your speedometer checked. You will be going faster than what the speedo says since you put larger tires on.) Good Luck.

Have the wheel bearings checked, Good Luck

If you have vibration in your steering wheel, I would have your CV joints checked out or it might be your front wheel bearings. The vibration coming from those two problems would get a little more intense as your speed increases. Are your tires in good shape? Did it vibrate before you got your brakes done?

this is a turn in caliper, meaning that as you try to compress the piston, you also need to rotate it clockwise. you can buy tool for this at nearly any parts store, and is fairly inexpensive.
Testimonial: "Thank you for your assistance. I found out the turning piston part by mistake, a day after I posted the question, when I tried to use a G-Clamp."
