SOURCE: power steering fluid

Nothing will happen. Power steering fluid is what you should have used. ATF is Automatic Transmission Fluid. This fluid is more intended where friction qualities are needed. It will work, but power steering fluid is better for the pump and hoses and gives the rack and pinion a better lubrication the ATF.Don't worry you are fine as it is.

Very hard to steer wheel in my 2003 gmc yukon and there is plenty of steering fuid in it

Turn car off - Remove power steering cap, and turn streering wheel hard right or left and fluid should pour out (cover surroundings with rags.) If so, check your power steering pump.

What kind of power steering fluid is used for a 1998 ford mustang (v6)? Is Dot 3 brake fluid ok?

Do not use DOT 3 brake fluid in a power steering pump. It will eat away all of the seals and hoses. If you are looking at power steering fluid, any power steering fluid will work. If we are talking about brake fluid, Then yes use DOT 3 brake fluid or DOT 4 break fluid. The top of the master cylinder should tell you which to use.

Got a 2003 GT convertible, intermittent wipers

The turn signal switch and wiper switch are one unit called a Combo switch. The good news is it is easily changed. After opening the column covers it is held to the side of the column with two torque head screws. You don't have to remove the steering wheel.

Leaking power steering fluid

Yes most of the time you can get a seal to replace the one that is there. I am pretty sure the parts stores have one for your steering gear box.
