SINCE CAR WONT CRANK. NOW IS THE TIME TO REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH KEY LOCK CYLINDER ITS BROKEN THAT WHY THE CAR KEYS WOULDNT TURN OFF CAR.DISCONNECTING BATTERY CABLES WITH CAR RUNNIMG WILL.SHORT OUT ALTERNATOR AND PCM.IF IN CASE YOU HAD TO REMOVE BATTERY CABLE REMOVE THE GROUND NEGATIVE CABLE FIRST.MAKE SURE ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OFF LIKE RADIO. AC SYSTEM OFF.THIS WILL PREVENT LARGE ELECTRICAL ARC FROM BATTERY THIS IS ONE TIME PROCEDURE IN CASE ENGINE WONT SHUT OFF ITS A GAMBLE BECAUSE IT WILL TAKE OUT ALTERNATOR AND PCM.REPLACE THE SWITCH AND KEY LOCK CYLINDER DONT KEEP STARTING CAR BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY CABLE YOU WILL DAMAGE IGNITION ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
The other coil pack replacement would not be a bad idea. The rubber around the coil pack that is worn could be letting in moisture and condensation, thus cutting out .
Another possibility is the fuel system is loosing pressure and cutting out. The fuel pump and fuel pump sender could be the problem
i had that problem, its the cam position sensor. i had that same problem, my car was cutting off in traffic and i had a hard time starting it back up. you have to hold the key for a very long time to get the motor to catch.. there was a recall a long time ago that the dealer has to reprogram or replace the CAMSHAFT POISITION SENSOR. it takes no time art all and i never had the problem again. i just happened to be looking up recalls one day and saw tht on a nissan forum and when i went to the local dealer the service guy swore up n down i was just blabin my gums but i got a second guy that knew of the issuse and it was fixed within that same hour. this happened to me about oct or nov 08 i had around 138-145k miles on the car then hope that fixes your problem
