I have a honda civic 2003 model and my engine check came on suddenly and car stopped and patrol was low too. And i notice the fan in the radiator didnt turn on without the ac on can this be the the reason engine check comes on.
Hi:
Your Honda Civic has 2 fans: One fan is for the engine cooling, and only comes on and off when the fan thermistat tells it to. the other fan is the AC condenser fan, and it is on when the AC is running, which it is supposed to do. You need to have a code reader attached to your car to figure out why your check engine light is on. Most Auto parts stores will do this for free, and then you will know why the light is on, and can work on what it will take to fix it

Its possible that your transmissions Shift Solonoids could be acting erratically, either because they themselves are faulty, or the transmission's ECU is faulty, or maybe even the wiring between the two is somewhat faulty.
However it is also possible that your transmission's Speed Governor is holding too much pressure and doesn't realize it needs to downshift when you start slowing down.
Thirdly it is also possible that your Torque-Converter lockup may be siezed, or the wiring feeding it may be faulty.
Transmission repairs are usually somewhat pricey, and difficult to pinpoint, and fix, and I'm sorry to say that most of these causes to your problem really can't be checked without pulling the transmission out of the car, and disassembling it to see what the problem is.

hi it is quite possible it is coming from the air box /filter and is just air intake noise chris (merlinv12)
SOURCE: 1991 honda accord the radiator coolant fan won't
If the cooling fan shuts off after a few minutes with the ignition off, this is normal for most cars; it prevents hard starting in hot weather.
If it fails to shut off after a reasonable period, say 10 minutes or longer, the relay for the fan may be faulty.
If doesn't come on during running and the gauge is in the normal range, this is also normal.
If it doesn't come on when the engine temp is above normal, the sensor for operation has failed.
This is normally located on the bottom tank of the radiator and will have either one or two wires coming from it and most have a hex base for removal and installation.
These are fairly common failures.

Try removing the E.C.M fuse or disconnect the battery, if that don't work you'll have to reset it with scan tool, or have autozone pull codes and tell them to reset computer, they'll do this at no charge (free).

If it's running rough, chances are that it's misfiring. If the Check Engine light is flashing/blinking, it is definitely misfiring.
If that's the case, drive it as little as possible... Or straight to the mechanic because the more you drive it while it's misfiring, the higher the chance is of you ruining your catalytic converter.
