SOURCE: 1991 Plymouth Acclaim stalls

One of the more common problems with the 2.5L & 2.2L engines that suffered the symptoms your describing, such as, starts & runs good, then at any given time would just quit, not start, but after sitting a while, or by the time the mechanic gets to it, it starts right up, or you sit on the side of the road for 20 min. or half hour then away it goes for a while longer, then quits again down the road. There is a pick-up plate under the distributor cap & rotor, with the wiring plug coming from it. 90% of the time, it's defective, and cuts out especially, but not limited to, more often when weather is hot.

SOURCE: plymouth acclaim wont start,no spark,no fuel

Do me a favor and cycle the key to on, then off, then on, then off, then back to on,& leave it in the on position.(not start) Now watch & record any flashes of the check engine light. You will get a number of flashes, then a pause, then more flashes. for example: 3 flashes, pause, then 3 more, would be code 33. It will always be a 2 digit number. 2 flashes, pause then 5 flashes, is code 25. When you get 5 flashes, pause then 5 more, that's code 55 which means end of message. Get back to us with any codes that flash.

I have to assume you have lost the cover for it, as the schematic/Map, is on the underside of it.

SOURCE: how to change fuel filter on 1993 plymouth acclaim

The fuel filter on a '93 Plymouth Acclaim is located on the underside of the car. It will be on the passenger side roughly between the back seat and fuel tank area. It is held on to the frame of the car with a single bolt and a clamp.

Why would my 94 Plymouth Acclaim 2.5, 4 cylinder die while I'm making a left turn?

sounds like it could be the sock filter on the bottom of the fuel pump has come off, its purpose is to keep fuel in the sock at the pickup tube so it won`t suck air. when the sock comes off fuel will pull away from the tube allowing this to happen. will happen more when the fuel level is between almost empty and 1/2 a tank.

Car was running good, parked for a year now it won't start unless you pour gas in carb

It is most Likely your fuel pump, or possibly a clogged fuel filter. I had the same problem on my grand am, put in a new pump and that solved it.

89 reliant plymouth car stall out

You're right; It sounds like fuel delivery, but start with the simplest suspects first.
Change the fuel filter(s) first, and if this doesn't get it, go for the fuel pump.

Won't start, fuel pump runs at key on, spark at coil wire into distributor is yellow, little or no spark at plug wire ends

Sounds like bad distributor cap or rotor. If ones bad, might as well change both. Take off the cap and if there is a black color on the ends of the prongs, or on the end of the rotor, time to replace. Is it getting fuel into motor?

1990 Plymouth Acclaim won't start.

Check your battery terminal connections first. The starter draws much more current than your accessory panel and a loose connection at the battery is a good place to start. Corrosion at the terminals can be a problem also. Post your results from this test and we'l go from there.

1995 Plymouth Acclaim Won't Start

It is most likely the fuel pump. pouring gas down the throttle body will not start it, it will just flood it. try spraying a carb cleaner in the throttle body in short 1 or 2 second bursts while some one else cranks it, it should start.
