How to change the oil filter on a 2008 kia sportage

SOURCE: I changed my timing belt in my kia sportage but

when you changed your timing belt, did you make sure the two dots where facing each other on the two gears the belt hooks to? If not then you engine is not in time and it won't start...ever. You have to make sure that is in properly. You should change the oil too.

I never heard such a thing ,first of all get under your vehicle and see if you can tell where the leak is coming from,A oil filter has a rubber gasket when applied with a thin coat of motor oil will seal itself ,you must tighten the filter on the spindle until it is snug fit(not over tighten) make sure your using manufacture suggested size and fit for your year vehicle.You may also want to check the oil drain plug it may have stripped threads and it could easily be your problem or the gasket around your oil pan could be bad. last but not least check for double gasketing it is when the o ring gasket of the old oil filter is still sealed on the oil housing area this would easily cause leakage.I hope i covered all your possibilities and please give me a 4 thumbs up if i was a help for you

This is for a 96' , 3.8L but it's all I could find, but will check again if no help. Let me know.

there is no fuel filter per say, it is now part of the fuel pump,its not servicable, unless the pump is replaced, i know that sounds crazy, but the hyundai tucson is the same way,its there the same vehicle, hyundai owns kia.
