2005 avalanche Fog lights are staying on with

2005 avalanche Fog lights are staying on with vehicle shut off. Gabe Lamarre To expand on the problem. They came on overnight while the vehicle was parked. They do not respond to the swich. They turn off when the vehicle is running and the headlights are on and will not turn on with the switch as long as the headlights are on. With the vehicle running and the headlights off they are on and remain on regardless of position on the foglamp switch and remain on when the vehicle is shut off. To keep my battery from being drained I unplugged the fog light bulbs and have been using the vehicle in this manner. Any help in a solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated. The fog lamps are computer controlled .the body control module (BCM) will energize the fog lamp relay control circuit. The BCM receives the park lamp ON signal from the interior park lamps supply voltage signal circuit.
DTC B2527 Front Fog Lamps Circuit Low
The body control module (BCM) monitors the front fog lamp switch signal circuit in order to determine when the fog lamp relay is to be energized. When the BCM senses that the front fog lamp switch signal circuit is grounded momentarily by pressing the fog lamp switch, the BCM energizes the fog lamp relay by grounding the fog lamp relay control circuit.

Your best bet , take it to the dealer . Could need BCM replaced , would need to do testing using the Tech 2 scan tool . A new BCM has to be programmed .

Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement
If the body control module (BCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the following order:
BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Computer/Integrating Systems.
Important: This procedure has to be performed only for vehicles equipped with the Passlock™ System.
Theft Learn--Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent. A new BCM will learn the Passlock™ information automatically, but the powertrain control module (PCM) must still learn the theft information from the BCM.

2005 chevy avalanche starts then dies

Be SURE to check your OBD2 Computer soon.. Doing so may save you hours of troubleshooting (and sometimes guessing). One 'fault code' could hold and point to your answer!

Low Beams not working

Many of the newer vehicles have bulbs that are removed internally, meaning with the hood up. You cannot touch the replacement bulbs with you fingers as the oils from you fingers will shorten its life. Wear gloves or use tissue. The low beam went because they were hot when you struck the other vehicle, when hot they become more delicate.

2005 Chevy Avalanche - The truck is in park, shut off, and the keys out. The brake lights are staying on. What do I need to do to get them to turn off?

There should be a brake light switch under the drivers side mounted on the brake pedal it may have broke or come out of adjustment in any case you could push the switch in by hand and tape it as to not drain your battery until you can get a replacement part for it if indeed it needs to be replaced otherwise it may just need to be adjusted.

How do you replace the fog light bulb on 2008 avalanche

    • 1 Open the hood and reach down into the engine bay for the fog light assembly. If you cannot reach the fog light assembly from the top you may need to get underneath the truck to reach it. Remove the electrical plug running to the fog light ballast.
    • 2 Remove the bulb. Unlock the fog light bulb by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it straight out of the assembly.
    • 3 Slide a new bulb into the fog light assembly. The part number you will need for the new bulb will be located on the ballast or base of the old bulb.
    • 4 Turn the bulb clockwise to lock it into the fog light housing.
    • 5 Reconnect the electrical connector to the bulb ballast.

Describe how to change fog lamp (just the bulb) on 2005 subaru forester. As far as I know the fog light assembly is fine, the bulb has just burned out. If you know which bulb to use please let me know,...

2005 Forester - It is easiest to remove the fog assembly.

1. From underneath the vehicle pry out one plastic fastener to be able to bend the light weight plastic mud protector downward. You will see the underside of the fog light assembly with one 10mm bolt directly above you. Remove this bolt.
2. From the front of the vehicle unscrew one 10mm bolt at top of fog light (this is the shorter of the 2 by the way) and pry out one plastic rivet adjacent to it.

3. Carefully remove the fog assembly and disconnect 2-pin power connector by pulling up on the release. Carefully wiggle the housing out (no force req'd).
4. Unscrew the back from the housing and replace H3 bulbs. Take care not to touch the bulb while replacing.

5. Reverse to install.

Should take an hour at most.

2005 pt cruiser wont start

First check to make sure all the harness plugs on the PCM are pushed in and tight. It happened to me.
Then check your grounds.
And you need to get that multi switch replaced to fix that fog light problem.  Just remember to take the relay off of the old one and replace it on the new one.
