Thanks, pdshoto much appreciated. I'll work on it and let you know how I do.

Mr. pdshoto, thanks for your help. I change the resistor, however I change it with an after market part. I noticed that the part that looks like a credit card is smaller in size than the original equipment, but it works so that is alll it matters. I also learned that you only get 90 days on warranties on the after market part.

    thanks again.

Heater blower motor quit...need to find ground for resistor

I suggest you find your fuse/ relay center check fuses and try new relay, I think the relay is 75% at fault most of the time.
Blazerk from Altima forum suggest
Back probe the blower motor Blue/Yellow circuit and tap it to ground, if that doesn't make the blower operate, the blower motor/power transistor assembly is bad. When the blower motor does operate while grounding that circuit, the climate control panel may be faulty, repeat the test from the connector at the control panel to verify the wiring is not damaged. Also, When verifying voltage, Use the power and ground wires to the blower motor. Other grounds may give you faulty readings.

Heater/AC in my 2000 Nissan Maxima only works on setting number 4.

you have an open blower resistor assy.easy fix however in most cases failure is due to blower motor intermittently drawing excessive current and damaging resistor.best solution is to replace both the resistor and motor

2000 Maxima, I replaced the AC Blower Motor but still won't start. Also replaced the Blower Motor Relay, still nothing.

Try replacing the blower motor switch. It costs about $46.00 for the part at the nissan dealer.

A/C and heater only works on level 4

you need to replace the resistor block or clean the contacts on the heater fan resistor block plug. find your fan and follow the wire to find the resistor block. it will have 5 wires coming out of it and be mounted in the duct work for the heated/ac. remove a few screws and pull it out and put the new one in.
