The bearings on the wheels has to be installed one way only, the rotor ring is built into the bearing and if installed the wrong way round the sensor cant pick up the wheel speed causing the ligt to be switched on in the cluster. The diagnostic equipment should pick this up as a fault once the car has been driven, it will see the sensor when you do the diagnostic if the car is standing still but once the car is moving and no signal is send from that wheel it would register a fault into the memory of the PCM that you would be able to retrieve later.
There is a way for you to test the sensor yourself by using a multimeter set on volts, you jack the vehicle up at that wheel, install a vehicle stand to support the vehicle to be safe, disconect the wheel speed sensor and probe the two wires into the sensor, spin the wheel by hand and a small amount of current will be produced meaning the the sensor is working and the wheel bearing is installed the correct way, you can also do a continuaty test on the sensor by switching the multimeter onto ohms, but be very carefull, if this sensor has three wires you cant do the continuaty test because of the integrated circuit in the sensor, the three wire sensors opperate on a voltage from 5Volt and it would be destroyed by the multimeter opperating on 9Volt.
If the continuaty test passes and the bearing is installed the correct way, the most comon fault would be a break in the wiring leading to the PCM
Hope this will be helpfull.

Why is my traction light coming on and off in my 2003 ford mustang

Could be a bad wheel sensor. Traction comes on when the ABS sees one wheel turning faster than the other. Usually this happens when a bearing is start to go out. If you hear a noise while turning, like a low hum. It would be a bearing. Turning left and hear the noise would be the right bearing. Because you are putting more pressure on it.

I installed a front wheel bearing kit in my 2003 GMC now the ABS WARNING SIGNAL COMES ON AND STAYS ON

Double check to make sure the abs harness from the new wheel bearing is plugged in. If it is unplug it and make sure the pins in the other connector are not bent. To very common problems that are quick to check out.

Traction control light and abs light came on at the same time and stayed on, on my 2001 ford focus please help!

most likely a wheel sensor concern

if the computer cannot see the wheel speed then you lose ABS and TRACTION control

go to almost any part store and have them pull codes
assuming you have a VSS code, replace the suspected part or continue diagnoses for possible wiring concern

Impala - trac off and ABS light along with service traction syst

THE PROBLEM IS WITH A HUB WHEEL SPEED SENSOR OR MORE LIKELY THE HARNESS LEADING TO THE HUB.

CHECK THE RESISTANCE AT THE HUB CONNECTION, IT SHOULD BE BETWEEN 900OHMS AND 1300OHMS. THEN SWITCH TO A-C VOLTAGE, IT SHOULD BE 100MV WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL BY HAND. IF BOTH CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM IS IN THE WIRING TO THE HUB.

THE RIGHT FRONT HUB USUALLY HAS A BEND, DOWNWARD THEN UPWARD NEAR THE CONNECTOR TO THE HUB. THAT IS WHERE THE PROBLEM USUALLY OCCURS.

NEW HARNESS WIRES CAN BE BOUGHT AT THE DEALER.

Brake sensor? something else?

You have a faulty wheel speed sensor. This is a magnetic pick up sensor on your wheel bearing hub and it controls your abs. If the car can not sense all 4 wheels then the abs will default back to normal brakes and your traction control will not work. Look at your wheel bearing hubs and check for these sensors. They are on the underside of the car and are black plastic with a wire comming out of it. A piece of gravel may have broken the pick up or the wires to a sensor may be broken as well. To replace it is usually a couple of screws on the hub assembly and a plug to disconnect from your wire harness.
