I'm trying to wire a VR3 stereo (with USB, SD, 3.5mm inputs--don't know how important that information is) into a 1995 Chevy Beretta. I've been looking at all of the wiring diagrams on various websites and I have all of the wires connected to their counterparts, except that I have two bonus wires coming from the dashboard that are not included in ANY diagram I've seen: a black wire and a yellow wire, and BOTH are powered. When everything is connected (minus the bonus wires), the lights on the receiver come on, but I cannot power up the player.
Any solutions?

I don't know what fuse #9 is (indicate? headlight?) but look around your suspension arms for any wires that could be rubbing on bumps. If you post what the fuse operates that may help :-)
I would buy a chilton or Haynes manual from my local auto parts for approx. $22.00 as they come in very handy. However if u just do one plug and one wire at a time. It would be impossible to mix them up. And don't forget to check the spark plug gap as that's very important. They are usually correct out of the box. However there have been occasions that they weren't correct. Hope this helps !
1.Look on the top of the old deck
2.red wire power
3.black ground
4.yellow wire memory
Than you can try and do it from the sound coming out of the sperkers
I have taken a spark plug boot of of a 90 degree boot of the wire and use this it works so check the junk yard for a plug wire with a 90 degree boot on it and pull it off the wire :)
if it is the same motor going in that came out ,it would fit and hook up but if you are changing from one size to another, you will have to change the wiring harness, hope this helps you, thanks robert b.
