SOURCE: fuel filter location

The oil filter is in an aluminum cylinder on the engine. It is not a "spin on" filter, it is now a cartridge-type filter. When you get one, make sure that you use the new o-rings provided in the filter box. The fuel filter is in the tank. Hope this helps, the graciousness of a FixYa rating would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are several fuse blocks. They are located in the engine compartment, behind the right side kick panel, under the instrument panel or behind the left side kick panel.

REPLACEMENT
If any light or electrical component in the vehicle does not work, its fuse may be blown. To determine the fuse that is the source of the problem, look on the lid of the fuse box as it will give the name and the circuit serviced by each fuse. To inspect a suspected blown fuse, pull the fuse straight out with the pull-out tool and look at the fuse carefully. If the thin wire that bridges the fuse terminals is broken, the fuse is bad and must be replaced. On a good fuse, the wire will be intact.

Sometimes it is difficult to make an accurate determination. If this is the case, try replacing the fuse with one that you know is good. If the fuse blows repeatedly, then this suggests that a short circuit lies somewhere in the electrical system and you should have the system checked.

When installing a new fuse, use one with the same amperage rating as the one being replaced. To install the a new fuse, first turn off all the electrical components and the ignition switch. Always use the fuse pull-out tool and install the fuse straight. Twisting of the fuse could cause the terminals to separate too much which may result in a bad connection. It may be a good idea to purchase some extra fuses and put them in the box in case of an emergency.

You do need to have a spring compressor. Get the McPherson spring compressor. It is a must. You can rent them at O'reillys auto parts, Kragen, maybe Auto Zone. To get a better understanding on how to change it out, I recommend a chilton 95-97 Camary Manual. Now I can't remember the exact tools you need but the ones I can remember are 22mm socket, 14mm socket, 12mm socket, for the 2 large stubborn bolts I had to impact drill them, and with that 12mm socket don't forget to take the brake line off the strut. When you jack up the car try using its stock jack stand if you dont want to bend the running bars underneath where you jack it up as the car is a unibody jacking it up too high will lift the cars whole side and you only need to jack it enough to take the tire off. The back struts require you to take out your back seat which are also easy to take out.

To remove the rear seat here a link, its on a 2000 but should be generally the same. I learn better with pictures anyway, hope this helps!

Rear defroster not working

Sounds like a fuse has gone. Find the blown fuse and replace it, as some fuses work more than one thing. Mirrors and rear heating windows run off the same circuit. The symbol should be the same where the fuse is located on the bord as the one you press to turn thegheaters on for the window and mirrors

Toyota 2007 avalon rear defroster not working. Mirror defrost is working. What is wrong?

First check all fuses, second check for 12v power at the connector to th rear window, a test light or volt meter on dc voltage,if there is power use an ohm meter to check the window grid with the power connector disconnected.if open the connection is either open or bad. if there was no power at the connector check the power from switch all the way back to the window

Toyota doesn't publish instructions for that. Its checked and installed for free as a courtesy on an oil and filter replacement, at good repair shops. You took it apart, I'm sure you can figure it out. People that aren't auto mechanics, think everything's so simple.

Hello. Check the fuse for that outlet in your avalon. Most likely the fuse is blown. J.
