SOURCE: 03 chev silverado 1500 blower fan works only on 4th & 5th speeds

Most likely the blower motor resistor has failed. There is a updated version from GM that is much more durable.

A 1500 has a legal hauling capacity of 1000 pounds. However, the boys at GM were smart enough to realize that some of us weren't too concerned about what it weighed as long as it fit in the box. You should be okay, I've put as much as 2500 lbs. in my 1987 with no breakdowns. Just adjust you driving a little especially if the road is a little rough. Your springs will be pushed to absorb sharp bumps and you will be pushing your braking capacity. Start slowing down a little earlier and you should be okay. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2004 chev silverado ext cab. No Power steering

Hi Hollings,

You description was very good, I need to ask for a specific.

When you turn to the left, the wheel is stiff like the engine is off or does it turn smoothly but the vehicle doesn't turn or seem to respond.

I'm trying to rule out broken mounts,

Also, if the wheel is all the way to the right, is it difficult turning back to the left the whole way, or half way. See where I'm going.?

Please comment back your findings

Best regards
Mike

Here is a link to specs for that year model of truck, I would need more info such as auto/manual, and 4x4 or not. Anyway it's an easy chart to read. But technically speaking a 1/2 ton pickup is only rated to carry 1,000 lbs in the bed. I wouldn't personally suggest doing more than that, if you overload the bed you can have trouble steering and stopping. I hope this Helps please rate this thank you

How will towing a new 5th Wheel with 1994 7.3L IDI (non powerstroke) Turbo Diesel be?

You have plenty of truck to tow that thing around. I would have the 20 year old tranny serviced and ask the transmission shop if its going to hold up to the pressure.

2009 NISSAN NAVARA RX D40 DUAL CAB P/UP 5 SEATS, 4X4, DIESEL TURBO F/INJ, 5 SP AUTOMATIC
» Release Date: Jan-2005
» Max. Torque: 403Nm @ 2000rpm
» Max. Power: 128kW @ 4000rpm
» Power to Weight Ratio: 15.08:1 kW/kg
» Fuel Type: DIESEL
» Fuel Consumption: City(10.5L/100km)
» Dimensions: L(5220mm), H(1895mm), W(1774mm)
» Towing Capacity: Brake(3000kg), Unbrake(750kg)
» Turning Circle: 13.3m

as you can see you can tow us to 3000kg or 6600 lbs IF the trailer has its own brakes and 750 kg is it doesn't.

Uhaul will not rent you a trailer to haul anything close to what the maximum towing rate your vehicle is listed at.

2007 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD - Rear Brakes are wearing faster than front brakes

Generally speaking, the front brakes do most of the work of stopping--typically between 70-90%. The potential reasons for your truck's rear brakes wearing abnormally quickly include:

--the adjuster(s) on your rear drum brakes were adjusted too tight. (I'm pretty sure you have drum brakes in the rear.)

--You are doing a lot of heavy towing or hauling which is transferring more of the weight to the rear brakes. You'd have to be doing this often, though, and frequently meeting or exceeding the capacity of your vehicle to tow or haul.

--The proportioning valve, the master cylinder or a brake line somewhere is damaged, causing more hydraulic pressure than is correct to be applied to the rear brakes.

-- Your parking brake cable is kinked or damaged, causing the rear brakes to constantly rub. You'd likely smell burning brakes and notice heat from the wheels.

-- Your rear drum brakes are clogged up with brake dust and the springs cannot properly retract the brake shoes, resulting in constant rubbing.

Most likely one of these issues is your problem if you have premature rear brake wear.

Clicking or tappting upon starting

Should be using 10w30 or 10w40. You probably have a lifter knocking. Instead of using 5 quarts of oil replace one of the quarts with an oil additive. I use a quart of Lucas Oil in my vehicles every oil change. The stuff works wonders!
