Replace clutch I have a 5(6 w/reverse) speed 2006 Kia Spectra EX with 117800 miles and I can feel the clutch getting harder to put in gears. But it doesn't make the grinding sound (yet). What clutch parts do I need to buy to replace and what should the approx cost. I can't afford over $600 to have a shop do it.

A new clutch kit or clutch package has 3 major parts: a new clutch disc (the thin plate with the abrasive surface), a new or reconditioned clutch pressure plate, and a new clutch release bearing (aka, throw-out bearing). Approximately $200 for the package.
Some people have been known to change only the clutch disc (for about $30), and use their old pressure plate and throw-out bearing. Not recommended-same people have been known to have to go back sooner than later to then replace the pressure plate and release bearing. Do it all once, then you won't have to go back and re-do it.

Have you checked the hydraulic clutch operation? Before condemning the clutch disc for failure, make sure the hydraulic clutch cylinder causes the clutch fork or lever to have sufficient travel to engage the clutch when the pedal is depressed. Also check the clutch fluid reservoir for being full.

SOURCE: P0016 CODE KIA SPECTRA 2006

the p0030 is the heater circuit in the o2s bfore the cat. as long as there has been no one cutting through the fire wall(which i have seen) and into harness trying to install a stereo then you should be able to replace the o2 sensor which should still be under warranty. the p0016 has to do with the crank/cam sensor which could be going bad. how does it run? if it runs good or wont start, replace the sensor. happy holidays

SOURCE: won't go into gear to drive. may be transmission?

If the clutch has never been changed most likely it is that. The way you can check it is by removing the transmission and looking at the clutch disc. It could be transmission syncros but I am willing to bet you just need a new clutch.

SOURCE: 2000 kia sportage mass air flow sensor

The mass air flow meter is fitted to the air intake pipe Its quite a simple task to change it on your own.Has for the catalytic converter all you will have to do is give the car a realy hard reving when going through the gears and drive it hard for a few miles. That will clear your cat for you.Dont listen to the shop they are out to rip you off.Good luck.Any problems you can contact me via [email protected].

SOURCE: How do you replace a Drivers side headlight bulb 2006 kia spectra

Helps to remove the battery, but small ahbds can do it.

Directly behind the lens is a big round cap ... twist it off. The bulb is held in place with a spring that locks in to a notch in the holder. When handling the new bulb, don't touch the glass. The oil from your skin will cause it to shatter when turned on.

06 kia spectra how do your adjust the shift cables on a manual trans all forward gears are fine problem is with reverse no problem untie we changed the clutch

The clutch is not clearing properly ,so wait a while for it to level itself off ,to get reverse in the meantime you stop engine ,put in reverse then start engine ,if after a while it still doesnt work and tries to jump out of gear you will have to strip the gearbox and change the dog gear

2006 4cyl manual 5 speed transmission 30K miles, light use with no problems. Will not go into any gear with engine running, goes smoothly into every gear with engine stopped. Clutch pedal feels fine and...

Well, there is only one thing I can think of in your situation. Your pressure plates just simply are not creating enough pressure to allow the gears to engage. Either you have a defective clutch and it needs to be replaced, or possibly just needs a ton of adjustment. When you put it in 1st gear while engine is off, then start it and take off that works b/c there is enough pressure to keep the gears from starting to move when not already moving. However when they are already moving, there is just not enough pressure to stop them from turning, not even long enough to shift. Have you tried forcing it into 2,3, or 4 while driving without the clutch? As long as you achieve the correct RPM's your transmission should be able to do so.
