Welcome. I have a problem with the control engine. Auto start, rides, but during acceleration choking? I checked errors Bosch KTS 200 - P0191 error. Fuel pressure sensor! Is it true that it can cause problems with acceleration. A car with a lighted indicator light pzyspiesza normally. Please help me.
Here is what one other owner had to do at a dealer, read through it and take it from there, and yes the pressure switch will cause this problem.
I have received the same error codes as all of you, t P0090 (Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Control Circuit) and P0190 (Fuel Rail pressure sensor circuit malfunction). Same symptoms.
I've had the fuel pressure checked, valves, changed the spark plugs (by the dealership), software upgrade, cleaned the battery terminals, ran heet through the engine about twice, and .... nothing.
The dealership couldn't figure it out either. Eventually they came to the conclusion that it was a corroded battery cable, that they would graciously change for $800. ... so, I didn't do it, because I seriously doubt its the battery cables.
In the winter it had trouble starting as well, and would flood, I had to unplug the injectors sometimes to get it started.
I really can't think of anything else, i'll clean the throttle body this weekend, and start running on premium to see if it makes a difference.
If the dealership can't figure it out, you know its a mystery. I'm starting to wonder if its a computer problem.

Hi
The MAF code isn't really a problem, but the ETS is, because it is pointing to failure of the electronic throttle, which is a common problem, and a KNOWN problem at Volvo. The repair needs to be carried out at Volvo due to the need for a software upgrade after the repair, and it is this which is probably causing the bad idle rather than the MAF problem.
Now for the MAF problem....
Basically, the MAF is registering low air flow, and the main causes of this are:-
A dirty hotwire, which can be cleaned by removing the MAF and then spraying the hotwire with either brake cleaner or switch cleaner and then blowing it dry with your breath, but do not physically touch the wire, just blow on it gently. One good reason for a dirty MAF is the fitment of an aftermarket air filter of the type which requires spraying with oil. The oil contaminates the hotwire and causes this problem.
An intake air leak, such as a loose or split hose or vacuum line, a split diaphragm in one of the vacuum operated units such as the fuel pressure regulator, EGR valve, brake servo, etc, which could be located by sucking on the pipe connected to the unit. If you could **** air through the pipe without a vacuum build up then the unit diaphragm is split, or a leak at the intake manifold or throttle body.
If you were to spray carb spray around seams and joins in the intake system and the revs were to pick up slightly, then you would have found a leak.
If the hotwire was dirty, and becomes dirty again very quickly, then you should have the burn-off voltage checked out.
Obviously, it could be a wiring issue, but this is very rare, and 99% of the time, if a dirty hotwire or an air leak aren't the problem then a new MAF is the cure.
Very best regards
Geordie

The best thing is to go to your local Volvo maintenance shop or Volvo experts to find out whats the problem..usually the coomon ones I think is the programs inside its ECU unit..you try this..ask the volvo experts to reset the ECU and lets see..if problem arise then it is no doubt you might need the sensor..hope this help..
SOURCE: Check engine light on and Troubleshooting code is P0116
Hi, I managed to find a graphic illustration of the ECT sensor.
Good luck!
SOURCE: Check engine light is on. OBD reads p0191 &
Replacement of the fuel pump would be the case here, unless the fuel filter needs to be changed. To find out, remove the fuel filter, and blow threw it with your mouth, kinda tast bad but it will tell you if the fuel filter is restricted. You should be able to blow threw it easy.
SOURCE: Check engine light (emission system service required) Help?!?!
There may be problem with the mass air flow sensor (very common with Volvo). This causes the fuel system to malfunction.
You may have noticed increased fuel consumption, loss of power and general 'lazyness'.
Better to take it to authorized Volvo service for a checkup/fix.
