You have to first disconnect the battery, then raise the vehicle. Then you have to disconnect the wires from the starter /soinoid as well as pull the plastic plug straight back on the soinoid, since there is a connection inside it which you don't want to damage. Then you remove the starter bolts & remove it. I am assuming that you know what the starter looks like. Not too much work, but you need to put the wires back exactly where they were in the first place. Rick

ok i diconnectected my battey and i tool the wireing off the cylinoide i cant get the wiring off the starter but i managed to get out the 2 bolts holding it in. after that i tried to move the started and it will not budge. is there any chance that there could be any other bolt or plates holding it in??? thankz

i just called ford and found out that is is only 2 blot in the starter and a plate on the bolting end if anyone has seen this could they possibly tell me how to to get it out
