Most likely, if it's anything like my old Mazda MX-3, the Mazda engines are VERY sensitive to airflow on the intake side. There is possibly a crack in the airbox or intake plenum (sometimes hard to spot if they are in a "bellows" portion), or not latched in place properly or improper airfilter. Give those a look, looking is free, fixing can be pricey, Mazda wants a lot for a little bit of formed plastic, just to warn you.

I wouldn't think the PCM/ECM is the problem , hesitation at about 40 mph and 60 mph.. Something in the ignition system is breaking down causing a misfire or maybe TPS - throttle position sensor , these wouldn't cost to much. The dealer should be able to find the problem . An usually lights Flickering could be loose connection , high resistance in the circuit. Fixing Strange Auto Electrical Problems

My1991 mazda 626 will not rev up over 3000 rpm

DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU ARE ACCELERATING? Or do you mean sitting and reving the engine? If you are just reving the engine in park then the rev limiter is kicking in.

Hi i have a problem with my 2000 mazda 626 LX 4 cyl .. The other day(sept 5, 2011) i had a oil change & replaced my air filter. Then a couple days i replaced all 4 spark plugs. Thought it would fix...

you need a shop to check it over, before you replace more parts. The fuel filter may need to be replaced, but it wont fix your problem, its under the hood, near the LF wheel.
