The central locking on my 1999 Jaguar XK8 has stopped working. The fob does not work to lock/unlock the doors but does unlock the boot and turn on the lights. The drivers door can only be locked/unlocked using the key and the passenger door only from the inside. Also the windows do not drop when the doors are opened. I have to put the key in the ignition to lower the windows manually before I can close the doors.

Inspect the key fob for a place to open it and check for a battery.

is yours the renault keycard to start and open doors?if it is a know these cards can go faulty.they were bad on renault laguna.the switch breaks off the board inside card.can be soldered back on.think you can get replacement switch kit on ebay with instructions how to fix.need someone who can solder with some eletronics knowhow.if not not sure sorry

will your passenger door open with the key and is it just one side that your windows are not working or both. if its just one side it might be your regulator motor in the door thats not working if its both it might be your central locking pump usually in the boot. however if both of them are working fine it could be that your key needs reprogrammed however i think the 1st 2 are more likely to be the problem.

Does it open from the outside once you have manually opened it from the inside.
