Toyota Camry V6 valve tapping

I have a 1992 Toyota Camry V6 and I replaced the head gaskets. I have the head and the valve worked done. When the engine is hot there is clocking noise inside the valve cover and if its park and try to rev up the engine and let the gas pedal go that is when I hear the cloking noise but if it's on high rpm it don't have that noise.I checked the valve clearance and adjusted it by shimming . I repeat this process cause it did not do nothing on the first time. Besides all that noise my car runs fine and has a good gas millage. Please help.

SOURCE: 1997 Camry Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

Removal of the plenum is pretty straight forward. You will need to replace the plenum gasket after you remove it; the gasket is not reusable. Personally, if I was going to take the trouble to remove the plenum, I would replace the plugs and wires back there, also.
I know, I have a 93 Camry V6, and it is a real pain to do the plugs and wires with the plenum on. There are no secrets or great tips on the plenum removal, just take your time. Remember that there are different size bolts, and where they go. Please get back to me if you need any more info...Hope this helps, and thanks for choosing FixYa to resolve your issue.
The graciousness of a FixYa rating for my assistance would be greatly appreciated.

How do i replace a vacuum switching valve on a 1992 toyota camry 2.2L engine

Your post says it is a v6 but you say a 2.2 4 cyl in your question. VSV is located near the rear of the valve cover on the front of the engine.

Did the car overheats? If so, have someone check for a possible blown head gasket or cracked head. Have them do a compression check in the cylinders.

I replced my radiator & thermostat and my car is still overheating. Toyota Camry 1992, help

water pump may be bad. or you may have a head gasket leaking. If it perks over out of the radiator before it really hot thats a sign you have a head gasket issue. A shop can tell you for sure with a smog machine. If you have gas in your water the smog machine will read it.

I have a 93 Toyota Camry XLE 3.0 L V6 with 131k miles that has a blown head gasket which has caused coolant to leak into the cylinders and overheats the car. If I want to keep the car, is it better to...

if no other damage is done it is fine to have the head and gasket fixed, but with that many miles on it you might consider a rebuilt engine.

1992 toyota camry shaking very bad could this be a blown head gasket.. the machanic says its the first spark plug

Hi,

When a cylinder is misfiring, this dirupts the balance of the engine and the computer is sometimes unable to compensate during a misfire.

This also, can often cause erratic engine behaviour...and shaking like a tank.

It may simply be a bad spark plug, HT lead, or something more serious.

Have the onboard diagnostics checked first - this will indicate which (if any) electrical component is at fault.

This can be done by a local Toyota dealership, with the correct scanning equipment.

How do I replace my valve cover gaskets on my 1992 toy cam v6 3.0

this is relatively easy unbolt the cover from the head (this usually requires a 10 milimeter socket)once unbolted pull the cover off make sure you clean the old gasket off the cover and the head glue the gasket back to the cover and reverse the process used to take it off be careful not to over tighten the new gasket so as not to split it and cause it to leak.
