So many parameters are monitored by the engine light and its system.
From O2 sensors to a misfire to even a gas cap not on correctly.

One cannot troubleshoot if the light if it comes on and back off intermittently.
Once it comes on and stays on can it be checked.

But, just a hunch...try putting in a tank of high test gasoline that has NO alcohol in it.

Check Engine lights are notorious for coming on due to alcohol being burned and that fuels ineffeciency.

Major auto parts stores have code readers and will read out your codes for free. The engine light indicates that at least one code is waiting to be read.

first check gas cap for proper seal and on correctly if good----have car scanned for trouble code most auto stores such as auto zone / advanced auto offer this service free of charge check ur local area the code will tell u what problem ur car is having so u can correct it you can have the engine light reset but if problem not corrected it most likely will come back on also can disconnect pos battery term for a couple of min to reset computer which will clear codes and light but if problem not solved engine light will come back on

It may not reset for 50 drive cycles. It would be quicker to get it scanned by the dealer who just sold it to you and ask them for the code. If it does come back as a small evap leak then they can clear the code and you can be on your way. If the vehicle was left running during you refilling the fuel, it would trigger this code.
