Do the basic checks:
Check air filter clean.
Check gas filter clean.
Check spark plug not fouled.
Check spark plug cables OK
Check fuel is correct grade/mix (50:1 for 2 stroke)
have you got the timing set correct ,and did you fit the timing belt with all the timing marks lined up ,etc , if there correct ,check for spark ,by pulling off a spark plug lead and fitting an old plug into the lead ,then crank the motor ,dont hold the plug with your hand ,use insulted pliers ,if you have spark, ,if no spark check coil wiring ,coil, crank angle sensor,
It may have jumped time. However, if you smell gasoline, it got flooded. Here is the lay of the land. If it cranks, as in turning over but not starting. And you smell gasoline. The fuel is good, but there is not electrical spark going to the plugs. Bad coil. Cracked distributor cap. Moisture under the cap. Check this before you worry about the timing. You first have to test for ignition. Also don't pump the gas when starting it. See what happens. Also when the car is warm, never pump the gas. Also check the wire going from the distributor cap to the coil. Good luck, Hope this helps, Best, Mark
Three steps to remember a car need air fuel and spark to run ... check your ignition coil and distributor for spark ..... if everything ok check the fuel pump and make sure it works ..... a slight hit to the tank or pump itself could help it start ....dont beat it though.... Hope this helped
Im having the same problem, first check your spark plugs most likely they are not firing or your anti-theft system is keeping it from cranking my problem i dont know how to deactivate the security system.
