SOURCE: Bleed cooling system

Assuming you have already filled your cooling system with the proper G12 coolant to the cross-hatch level, open the coolant overflow/fill bottle cap. Leave it off. Start the car and let it idle. Turn your heater on full hot and full fan speed. Let it come up to temp so the thermostat opens up and allows coolant to flow through your system. When the system burps, you'll see air bubbles show up in the overflow tank. Let it cycle a another time and then top off the coolant if needed. Then close up the cap and call it a day.

SOURCE: How do I change the temperature sensor under the

It’s located on the driver’s side of the engine on top /side of the head.. midway.. I don’t think you need to remove the engine cover to see it.. if it is the correct one it will have a dark green top.. the bad version has a black top… but they can all go out to lunch on you if old enough.

To replace.. make sure the car is cool..
You need a hood tool.. or small pair of pliers to remove the retaining clip that holds it in place.
Place a rag under and around it to catch the coolant.. you will lose less than a half a cup.. if that.

Pull the retaining clip back toward you.. try not to drop it.. (another good reason for the rag)

Wiggle the sensor.. pop it out.. and replace with the new green top one make sure you clean the area well.. and when you reinstall the new one that the c clip goes back on straight or it will leak.

Once you see the part out of the box.. you will understand how it works

Start the car.. check for leaks.. run until warm with the heater on.. top up the coolant overflow bottle with distilled water.. (if more than a half a cup.. you should mix the proper anti freeze and distilled water and then top up with that)

Good luck

SOURCE: 2004 VW Jetta engine compartment fuze box location

one is located over the battery, the other is located in the side of the dash.

First panel:
If you pop your hood the battery will be on your right sid in the front of the engine bay. There is a small rectangular piece on top of the battery with a lot of heavy guage red wires going to it. That is the engine bay fuse box.

Second panel:
if you open your driver side car door it's under neath a panel located inbetween the door and the dash board.

2004 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 non-turbo. My MK4 VW shows P2177 and P3211. Help!

Question edited for clarity and toss in some CAPS.
Question moved to model category.

P2177 is Fuel Air sensor showing Lean mixture, so it is dumping more fuel and sooting up plugs and the catalytic converter. After fixing, you will need a system cleaning additive.

1995 vw jetta gl air conditioner fuse 2.0 l

You may not be full of refrigerant... There is a low pressure switch that prevents the AC from actuating the clutch, and the reason is: IF there is not enough refrigerant, you will not be able to move oil through the system and you will have major damage...so no engauge...

Get the system checked, most likely there is a leak somewhere..

Location of the engine coolent sensor for a 2004 VW jetta 1.8T?

drain below level first or all after engine is cold!!!
sensor is on engine block.
Drain by opening the drainplug under radiator.
If clean enough, refiil same with funnel later. Leave cap or radiator while draining otherwise will not run.

Any good reason to swap? Fan not running or gauge problem?
