Most cars do this including the head lights , so the starter and ignition have less drain while starting. not sure if your model does this, If every thing is ok after starting nothing to worry about. If it wont start clean the battery terminals and check charging rate and battery.
first try and go back to unhooking battery and cleaning teminals real good with wire brush and put them back on tight you might have good enough contact to light up dash but not enough to start
First thing i would check is the security system. If the battery is good, and it feels like everything is normall except it just wont crank. It could be the security or the starter. Put your key in and try to start it, when it doesnt start, look for a light on the dash that says SECURITY this is a dead give away and you could find all the answers you may need on this link http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
DO you hear a clicking when you turn the key to start? Solenoid relay make a click sound when energized.
If the solenoid is not mounted on the starter motor then it will be near the battery
The key switch sends power to the solenoid. the solenid is a big remote controlled switch, and it takes power from the battery to the starter motor
check all your grounds for a good connection and same with the positive terminal check for a loose connection clean the cable ends good . all it takes is a bad ground not making connection .
is the starter turning?then it is a fuel or ignition problem.if there is no starter action,it could be the safety neutral switch, put it in neutral and see if it turns over.,or a dead or defective battery or connection.also, the car has an immobilizer that kills the starter.
if the key is a copy with no chip, the car will not start
