Battery is dead and can't open the trunk, even manually

Starter motor on this car is imposible to get to..better find the post forward of the drivers side fuse box in the engine compartment where a bunch of wires come together. This is a positive terminal attach red jumper here put the negative jumper on any bare metal bracket of the engine

Hi,try to look the connection of your starter motor,there is big cable connected to battery and starter,try to connect the jumper cable to change the battery,maybe your central locking pump function,open your trunk,remove your battery for changing,ty

If you haven't tried the emergency slide out key on the main ignition fob,slide it out and slide it into the trunk button keyhole,turn 90 degress and push button/key,trunk should open. At least it did on my 98 c280.

Hi you probably wont like this answer but I had a similar issue. Take the plate off and dril wholes in the deck lid. cut about a 1.5" whole in the center of where the plate goes then you can reach in and trip the lock be careful very sharp. The trip lever is a small piece of plastic closer to the driver side of the car it sticks out to the side poof trunk open

Ive been working all day and tried all suggestions. I called Mercedes dealer said he can order a new key for it but I have to go to the dealer to pick it up. Really! Tough to do when my car is dead. Its a 98 C20 Sport. The key wont even go in the lock. Who was the brain surgeon who thought it was a good idea to put an electric lock on the trunk? Liability waiting to happen!
