I took my 09 VW Tiguan to the dealer for a rear main seal leak. They dropped the engine to fix the problem. When I got the tiguan back the right front cluster of lights would go in and out. After a few days they went out completely and never came back on. What could this be?

SOURCE: windshield wipers on new vw tiguan had loud sound and went out

A gear is broken inside of the motor, it sounds like the wipers were frozen to the windshield. This not supposed to happen. it is a bad design.
Since you are under warranty, I would talk the the Service Manager at a VW Dealership.

SOURCE: A warning light has lit

I believe that is a low tire pressure indicator. Check your tire pressure and fill if necessary.

SOURCE: In my Tiguan 1.4 TSI,

I have the same whistle sound, too.. since last year... just after warranty period. I've notice it comes from the clutch of the compressor that helps the engine until 3000 rpm when the turbo goes into the action. to replicate the sound, check left side of the engine, put someone to push the clutch pedal and then press on the accelerator. Check with VW if there is a solution, although I think you will run thousands of miles and no damage because of that.

My 2011 VW Tiguan is stalling out while reversing out of driveway...occasionally. The car is already warmed up. It's an automatic 4cyl turbo engine

First is your car still under warranty? If not we are working on an 09 Tiguan that wants to sometimes wants to die out at stops. We are replacing the in tank fuel pump and fuel pump control module.

2009 vw tiguan intake carbon build-up

Sell your Tiguan. I had the intake clean done last Nov for the 3rd time. Last week in the fast lane car lost power and I was nearly killed. Today the VW tech tells me its carbon buildup again. I am dumping the Tiguan and going back to Japan again. PS I always use "Premium" why I dont know.

2009 VW Tiguan SE 4Motion. Pulley squeaking at idle, however, this started after I noticed that the idle was surging from about 1000 up to 2000 rpm over and over. The car has very limited power, poor fuel...

Surging usually means a vacuum leak or valve timing problem. If it's an '09, it does not have a carburetor, so float problems, metering rod problems, and stuck needle valves are not a problem. It could be a fuel pressure regulator or a bad EGR valve. It could be a shift modulator on the transmission if it's an automatic transmission.

I would imagine you could tell if a VW was imported or not by what units the speedo was in, km or mph.

{ ... The production Tiguan was released at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, and debuted as a 2008 model for Europe and elsewhere and in North America as a 2009 model. Sales of the Tiguan in Canada began in April 2008.
...
The import version of Tiguan appears on the Chinese market in 2009, but soon a locally built version (aka Shanghai-Volkswagen Tiguan) was revealed at 2009 Guangzhou Motor Show. The Chinese-built Tiguan uses 1.8TSI (118kW) and 2.0TSI (147kW), and has a revised front facia. At the same time the import Tiguan is still sold in China, which has 2.0TDI and R-Line kit as highlights. The basic design of the import model is the same as the international one. In order to differ locally-built and import models, Shanghai-VW Tiguan is given a Chinese name, known as ?? (tuguan), and the import one keeps the original letter name.
