Vibration and noise from front end while driving

We are experiencing noise and a lot of vibration from the front end of our 2002 chevy venture. We replaced the front brakes July 08, left front wheel bearing July 08 and the right front wheel bearing April 09. I can feel the vibration in the steering wheel and on the floor of the vehicle. It can barely be heard until we are driving approx. 60 km/h. Then the noise and vibration drastically increases. Our tires were purchased in the fall/winter of 07 and we put approx 15, 000 kms on our vehicle per year. THe tires have been rotated every 10-20,000 kms. The mileage on the van is 162,000 kms. If (while driving) the steering wheel is moved slightly to the right you can really feel the vibration. The sound seems like it is coming from the drivers side, but feels worse when you turn right.

When you replaced the brakes did you replace the rotors or have them turned?

Jack up the front end and put stands under it and block rear wheels. Look at axle boots and see if they are cracked. Try turning wheel back and forth sharply and see if you can hear any clicking. Problem could be outer axle joints. If the boots are cracked or you hear a clicking noise you will have to replace the axle. The axle and boot come as a complete unit. Please let me know what you find out.

Any ideas why a 2003 chevy trailblazer may vibrate in the front but stops when you turn left

Does the vehicle make any noises while driving? If there is a "growling or roaring " noise associated with the vibration, check the right front hub bearing. If there are no noises and only vibration, check the right front upper ball joint and control arm bushings. The Trailblazer's upper ball joint and control arm bushings become worn and cause the tire and wheel assembly to shimmy while driving. The vibration stops when turning left because of weight transfer to the right side which keeps the wheel steady for a moment. Also, check the tire for irregular wear.

Strong front end vibration at speeds over 60 mph. Shocks, ball joints have been replaced and wheels aligned and balanced. Took it to a tire repair shop and they couldn't find problem. Any ideas on...

You need to have someone look at it that is experienced in NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness). Front end vibrations can be caused by many things. Each possibility needs to be systematically eliminated to find the cause. Someone who is experienced in this can eliminate several possibilities by simply driving the vehicle...Did the tire shop even bother to road test it? I'll bet not!

Sometimes INTERNAL tire problems can cause a vibration that cannot be found (or eliminated as a possibility) by putting the tires on a balance machine. To eliminate this as a possibility, rotate the tires front-to-rear one side at a time then drive the vehicle to see if the vibration changes or "moves". If it does, then the tire that just got rotated to the rear is the problem.

Also, the vehicle can be run on a lift to see if the vibration can be duplicated in the shop. Many times, if the vibration is being caused by a drive axle or CV joint, it can be located by running the vehicle on a lift this way. In the case of 4-wheel drive vehicles, it will be necessary to engage the front axles to get them spinning on the lift.

The entire steering and suspension system should be checked for looseness in the tie rods, stabilizer links and frame bushings, control arm bushings, etc. Any looseness in any of these parts can cause vibrations at certain speeds.

I have also seen vibrations that act similar to a tire being out of balance that occurs when the brake rotors loose a balancing weight on some vehicles. This may or may not apply to your vehicle, (yours may not have balance weights in the rotors) but this type of vibration can usually also be verified by running the vehicle on a lift.

Vibration NOISE in front end of 2000 Chevy Blazer. Any suggestions??

Check the front wheel bearings .... very common . While driving turn the wheel gently from side to side and see if the noise changes .. this will load and unload the bearings.

I have a 2004 Chevy Venture van. In past couple of days noticed increased road noise and a vibration from front end. Noise is kind of a "womp, womp womp" sound. Seems more pronounced when going around...

Have front tire's check out, but more then likely you have a bad front hub bearing. Have it taken to a repair shop where they can put it up on a lift and checked.

Front End noise and vibration

Check the U-joints and axle baerings. But its most likely because the truck is in four wheel drive.
