My first guess would be the choke is not closing, or you have varnish inside the carb that is clogging up the ports.

Testimonial: "Thanks Stephen, the choke is working. I thought some internal blockage in the carb also.Any ideas how to clear it short of taking apart the carb? Thanks again for your time."

When you turn the key to the on position can you hear the fuel pump turn on? If not, the fuel pump relay has gone bad. Make sure you have at least 5 gallons of fuel in the tank. Check and make sure you have fuel flow to the rail, try cracking the banjo bolt on the fuel rail.

Testimonial: "Thank you. I believe you are on the right track. I failed to mention earlier that this is a EFI model."

When im driving my truck,it starts to sputter and

I would try spark plugs and wires. If it was a fuel line you would see the leak or atleast smell it very strongly. If the problem still exists after new plugs and wires try the distributor cap.

CHECK FUEL FILTER FIRST..YOUCAN HAVE PLENTY OF GAS AT IDLE AND SLOWER SPEEDS BUT NOT ENOUGH FOR FASTER SPEEDS..CHECK RUBBER HOSE TO TANK ,,IT MAY BE CRACKED..WON'T LEAK BUT PULLS IN AIR.

87 B2200 Runs Rich

your throttle position sensor is maybe causing an overfuel,or the egr is plugged and when you rev it up,it is not burning the excess.if you leave it like that, the excess unburnt fuel will burn out your catalytic converter

My Mazda mx3 starts up idles for a couple seconds then dies.

Before you replace the fuel pump, I would check the cheaiper parts first. Such as fuel filter and injectors.

Starts up and dies

Let me explain real quick the fuel pump circuit, when you crank to start that is a straight circuit to the pump via a fuse in most cases, when the engine starts and you release the key the fuel pump relay is energized and keeps the fuel pump running, it sounds like the fuel pump run relay may be the problem with your car, replace it or bypass it to test, if you don't understand how a bosch relay is wired don't jump it yourself, you can burn up the wiring.

87 mazda b2200

if it wont hold an idle then one or more of the cylinders are probably too low or high in compression and if it's backfireing then the ignition timming could be off. I would take a compressin test of all cylenders and if they are all in range I would hook up a timming light to se if the timming is out
