If you have a Bluetooth u-connect radio and Bluetooth phone it is likely the settings of the phone and car radio are to pair. I expert that during the pairing process and hands free operation the radio sets itself to mute.
Try doing this:
Ask your dealer for the latest TMB concerning bluetooth and the connection problems with a mobile phone. There is a software update for that, and you'll have to take it to the dealership - the bulletin number is #08-08-46-008 After the upgrade, it should work flawlessly! :)
Depress the volume bottom or rotate the volume knob. When on a Bluetooth phone call, the speaker symbol will mute, but unmute when the call ends. Either rolling the right steering wheel scroll or the volume button on the shifter area will should unmute the radio volume.
I am a EOS owner with a multifunction steering wheel. I hope the following is helpful to you. you have 4 buttons on the left and four on the right of your steering wheel.
left side top and bottom left, volume up and down top right (star) is the radio mute. bottom right on the left side is the telephone button.
right side top left on right side is the computer changer it has lines on it. this changes the screen to setting, radio, telephone etc. botton left is (ok) enter button top right is the menu select up bottom right is the menu select down to move up and down the menues view outputs on the small screen between the rev counter and speed gauge.
Setting up phone for phone use you will need a cradle for your phone which fits into the phone holder on your dash. it must be the exact one for the phone you have eg nokia E51if your phone has bluetooth, plug in your phone into the cradle and lock it in. set your phone to have bluetooth on, and start search for new bluetooth device. then with the car ignition on, press the left of the two buttons on the phone cradle and within 5 seconds the right one, what should happen now is the phone should show it has found a new device. select the device on your phone and when asked put in the code 0000 zero zero zero zero. press OK on your phone, this will allow your phone to be connected to the car via bluetooth connection.
using your phone, you can make calls, and hear the other end through your car loudspeakers, your microphone is integrated into the light panel by the rearview mirror. when have a call this it will mute the radio and you can control the volume of the call with the volume control on the steering wheel and end or answer calls with the phone button on your steering wheel. for phones without bluetooth the connection is made when the phone is placed in the cradle.
for other function press the top left button on the right side, this will scroll the different options, convienence options can only be changed when the car is stationary. audio is for the radio, using the far right buttons you can change channels with this and select with the OK button.
for a new manual ask at a breakers yard if they have a eos in maybe they have the user manual with it. or ask a car rental if they offer EOS and ask if you could photocopy the part of the manual you do not have. i would send you mine but it is in German.
