1999 Oldsmobile Bravada I opened the electric sunroof and it went back farther than normal and made a loud clicking noise then when I tried to close it it will only go 1/4 of the way closed and stop I can push the open/close button and it will open all of the way and go about 1/4 closed then stop. Thanks in advance

My sunroof

If you just want to get it closed, and if your motor is still good, your going to have to remove the headliner to get to the motor. Then disconnect your battery. Then remove the wires connected to the motor. You can use your battery if you have extra wire, however i recommend a jumper box. Basically you attach a wire to the negative side of your battery or jumper box, and a separate wire to the positive side. then use the other side of the wires to touch the connectors on your motor.

Sunroof

You will need to access the wiring to the sun roof and check for shorted/damaged wiring that might be rubbing on sheet metal and causing a short circuit, if you find nothing then the sun roof motor may be the culprit.

I have a loud tapping noise sometimes, coming from under my dash (drivers side). It sounds as if someone is tapping with a hammer on the plastic. I have a 2002 Ols bravada. It it safe to drive?

The AC/Heater unit has electric motors the open and close all the vents and heat to cold doors. when these electric motors begin to open or close past their stop points, the motor try to continue to open and close itself properly, thus fourth its tapping all the time. to see which one it is, turn the heater control to cold and slowly to hot. most of the time, its the heater door. if not, do the same with the vent control. the problem is common withe the GM SUV's.
