Most likely the hook holding the trunk to the back of the vehicle is either broken or out of place, so try opening the trunk and wriggle the hook, once it clicks and it's tight, there won't be any issue anymore, also try changing your key batteries or check if there were any spills on it
If there is not a release below the steering column check in side the glove box for a trunk release/reset. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I7U6N3hsko
This info below is taken from the link above. It could be the trunk release has been deactivated, http://www.lexusofpleasanton.com - Many luxury cars feature an electronic trunk release button to open your trunk lid. However as a security feature, all Lexus sedans feature a Valet Function to "lock" out access to your trunk. A common mistake is accidently activating this feature when reaching into the glove compartment. Here are the basics on how to use this convenient safety feature.
open the bonnet and place a jumper cable on the starters POS. wire. Place the NEG. cable from the jumper on any metal structural componant on the vehicle. use the key fob to 'pop' the trunk.
hi, if any doors, boot or bonnet is open it will not lock. there are SWITCHES that has to be set.for the system to recognize it is closed. please check all openings even windows. ONLY DO THIS IF.if the BATTERY HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF OR BATTERY HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED. the SYSTEM MAY NEED RESETTING. the battery NEGATIVE lead needs to be taken OFF and place the NEGATIVE LEAD ON THE TERMINAL (A NOISE WILL BE HEARD), the ALARM and CENTRAL LOCKING SHOULD BE RESET, if the ALARM DO'NT SOUND put the lead ON and OFF a FEW TIMES. CLAMP THE BATTERY LEAD CONNECTION TIGHT and press the ALARM BUTTON OFF and retry locking SYSTEM. this will work if everything is O. K. gerry
There is a small cover in the rear bumper driver side open it there is a place for the key this will open the trunk in the trunk on the driver side you will find a cable pull it that will open the driver door then pop the hood and you can charge, jump, or replace the battery
On the side of the smart key there is a mechanical key that slides out of one of the sides-There should be a little release lever retaining the mechanical key. It can be inserted into the trunk lock and turned to open the trunk. There are several other positions the key can be turned to place the trunk lock actuation in different modes- it should be in your owner's manual Hopefully I have been helpful
