- then scan the PCm ,it will tell you why it is stuck in first vast ways.
learn to scan all modern cars first or go broke fast, or even faster wasted hard labor costs. ouch.
they told you wrong gee there can be 50 causes, I bet they lied about that, even 50 leaks inside the trans can do that, and they add up. or bad pump or bad pump regulator or bad PCsol, or the leaks overwhelm all that.
a real shop checks line pressure first after the scan first.
the 400 PSI gauge tool is connected to box main line test port. plugged pulled.
then pressure checks in all PRNDL modes per the tranny manual
the modern transmissions of pressure solenoid that sets pump pressure to spec at the shift lever demand
then the TCM selects shift solenoids to do all gears in sequence.
if a speed sensor is dead then you will be in first gear
or the TCM puts you into LIMPHOME mode, gee scanning told you this if true.
all the tests are in the service manal why no do them?

or 40TE; box, 4 speed? they used both. or 41TE.
the 4 speed has PCsol,pressure conrol SOLENOID
the 6 speed has Pressure sensors.
speed sensors must show good ,scan tool complains on all these errors no looking is shame, rent the tool and save cash.
