When draining radiator for flush the Haynes manual says to "detach coolant air bleed hose from throttle body". Where's this?

This is located at the front of the engine, but is very difficult to get to because many other things are around it. It is not necessary to do this step. When refilling the radiator with fresh coolant, fill it to the top, then set the heater controls to maximum and let engine run with radiator cap off. When the thermostat opens, the coolant will flow thru the system and bleed out all the air. Fill the radiator with additional coolant.

I want to know if a universal coolant overflow can be used on a 2000 mazda mpv

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! The MPV reservoir is not an overflow but part of the pressurized system. Ever think it's weird the radiator cap is located on the reservoir?

How do I add antifreeze to a Mazda 2000 MPV 2.5L radiator? The only thing I could find that resembles a radiator cap is on the reservoir.

That's it!
You need to drain the radiator enough to add antifreeze/coolant. Thre is a drain plug/screw at the bottom corner of the radiator on the driver side.
You should drain it completely and close the valve then add coolant at the proper mixture.

3 liter mazda mpv overheating

You probably never cleaned the cooling system out.

If you have not get it done by pros.

It seems something is blocking the flow. If the water pump went bad you will know. Rarely ever heard a impeller breaks off like you think. The bearings and the seal break first.

Check and see also if the heater valve is working.

As for the over heating even new thermostats fail. Reverse flush is needed or the procan measure the pressure in the radiator cooling system and edetermine if there is a engine pressure problem. Tools and experience is the key in the game of diagnosis.

Mazda MPV Coolant Loss (but no overheat)

i had the same thing on my wifes 2000 mpv van...the ends of the radiator are made of some sort of composite type material....it had a slight crack in it....wasn't obvious until it got worse and started streaming water from it when warmed up....even after it cooled enough not to be spewing it was hard to actually see the crack though a few inches long....was hard to even see where the water and antifreeze mixture was coming from until i took out the radiator

Radiator drain plug

Just recently found this on my MPV. get on your back and slide just under the front of the van. just behind the bumper you'll see several holes about 3/4" to 1" diameter. there is one located more toward the driver side. there is a large black Phillips head screw. this should be the drain for the coolant/antifreeze. if you look inside under the hood, or through some of the other holes, you should be able to see where this connects to the radiator. hope that helps.
