If its like my 1999 Lumina, its on the end of the dash on passenger side. Open pass. side front door, look at the end of the dash & you should see a little door that says "FUSES" on it. Grab the tab at the bottom of the little door & pull out. And Ta da, there they are!

That means you lost your engine vacuum source and defroster mode is the default position. Check for the vac. line coming off engine to the firewall under hood if that vac line isn't damaged or leaking,check under dash allthe way up to the vacuum selector switch for the HVAC if you have good engine vac at siwcth around 17-18 inches of vacuum. Then it must be a faulty switch assembly.

Your alternator is not charging your battery. I could be the belt, regulator or alternator. You need to fix this as it will strand you when the battery is drained of power.
