Question about 1996 Geo Tracker 2 Door

1 Answer

No power to sterio, over head dome lights, or Dash lights.

I was trying to stop my dome light from flashing because the metal clamps that hold it there were a little loose on the bulb, i tried to squeeze it together with a small pair of pliers, and then the dome light went out, as well as my Radio and Dash board Lights, I checked the fuses, and replaced the 20 amp fuse for the radio and cigar lighter, nothing happened. i even checked the main fuse box under the hood by the battery, Would i have to replace the Main Lamp fuse, or Hazard fuse?? Really need to find out soon..

I think there should be another fuse for the dash lights and radio and dome (or interior or courtesy it may be designated). Recheck all of those fuses under the dash, I believe one has blown out. This is when a wiring diagram comes in handy-you can see the fuse lay-out, and what circuits each one serves.

2005 nissan titan dome light barely lights up i went to led bulb it didnt help its like i dont have enough power. i just bought the truck recently

Hi. Your dome light symptoms could be due to a faulty connection. I recommend starting at the fuse box then at the light fixture itself. More than likely the light fixture is worn out. But it is important to investigate first. If you run an old "Bulb Style" test light from the battery, to the light fixture. You can test the connections. Probe the bulb contacts first. Clamp the test light to ground to test for power then clamp to power to test for ground. Run this test both at the bulb connections and at the plug on the backside of the dome light fixture. If the lamp on the test light is bright at the plug but dim at the bulb connections. Then the fixture is no good. Look for overheating, corrosion and frayed wires. Good luck.

Which fuse do I pull that goes to the dome lights

Typically, the dome light fuse runs other items as well. If you wish to kill the dome light without stopping other things as well, it would be better to just remove the bulb. You don't say what you are working on, but most dome light covers come off pretty easily by squeezing the plastic and popping them loose.

How to safely remove lense cover from dome light

Just try a little pressure squeezing it inward form the ends with your fingers, or from the sides. There should be little clips or tangs on the underside of lens.

How to replace interior dome light bulb?

1) Remove the key from the ignition. Make sure the doors are closed, so the new bulb does not illuminate when you are installing it.

2) Make sure the dome light switch is turned to the "Off" position. Pry the plastic lens away from the dome light. Use a small, flat-head screwdriver.

3) Push back the side bulb clamp. Pull out the old dome lightbulb. Wipe the area with a paper towel if it is dirty.

4) Wrap the new bulb in a paper towel (oil from your skin will shorten its life). Insert it into the dome lightbulb holder. Push it up gently to secure it.

5) Turn the switch to "On" to test the bulb. Reposition the cover and push up to lock the clips into place.

If the bulb doesn't work, you've got a bad switch somewhere, probably on the drivers door.

How to change a 2003 x-type jaguar head light bulb

Open your hood.Behind the head lamps you will see black plastic covers held with spring clamps. There is one on each side of the assembly (the outer clamps not visible). So reach in and undo the clamps to remove the covers. Disconnect the wire on the headlamp bulb and release the small spring clamps on each side of the bulb. It should come right out. Install the new H1 bulbs and make sure the dimple goes inside the little alignment hole in the housing for alingment. Slight twisting L & R will help you check this until you feel it insert) Install the small clamps. Install the connecting lead wire on the bulbs and install the covers. Make sure to place BOTH clamps on the covers. NOTE: the passenger side is really limited in room to remove the outer clamp. I recomend a long screwdriver to help release it. Re clamping the outer clamp will take some finesing to get a hold of it and bring it forward. I recomend looping a metal wire on the middle to help bring it out and pull it to clamp it.)

2001 Hyundai Tiburon The dome lights stopped working.

the "clear" plastic inserts pop out... If you look closely youl see small slits around the border... just pop a flat head in there and GENTLY ease it out. The bulbs are cheap, though if you want colored you have to stay away from the cheap ones, being in that all they do on the cheap ones is paint the bulb in something that soon burns off.

06 corolla dome light quit working

The done light grounds itself by touching the roof bracing. The metal often wiggles and gets loose and cause it to not work, Ive also sen dome light switches go bad in corollas. Best bet it do either replace it, or remove it and bend the metal tabs out for a tighter fit. Try wiggling the switch also, they go bad.

How to change a burned head light on a 2000 vw cabrio?

Changing headlights on VW Cabrio I just changed the headlights on my roommate's 2002 Cabrio, but I followed the instructions given for a 2001. What you have to do is: 1. Move the metal wire holding the black cover to the side and remove the black cover. 2. Remove the power cord from the bulb itself and push to the side. 3. You will see a pin holding the headlight in. Squeeze the pin (you want to squeeze closer to the top of the pin, which is the closed end; don't squeeze the open ends because all you will do is get irritated and hurt your fingers), then push it back and down. What this will do is move the pin away and then out from those little metal tabs that its going through. One side will pop out, then the other. When you get it out, the pin should be standing up, with the closed end pointing up. You can then remove the bulb and replace. Popping the pin back in is a heck of a lot easier than getting it out! I was able to remove the cover, but I got totally stumped on the pin. I hope this helps you out, it may be a little confusing but its kind of difficult to describe. Maybe this will at least point you in the right direction!
