Someone needs to scan the abs for trouble codes.
The two systems are connected, so when the warning light is on for one the other is usually on too.

SOURCE: 2001 olds ABS and traction control sensor issue

An ABS sensor DOES affect the traction control system. Traction control uses these sensors to determine if a wheel is losing traction. A bad sensor will cause both the ABS and TRACTION lights to come on.
The CHECK ENGINE light however is going to be a seperate problem.

SOURCE: brake sensor? something else?

You have a faulty wheel speed sensor. This is a magnetic pick up sensor on your wheel bearing hub and it controls your abs. If the car can not sense all 4 wheels then the abs will default back to normal brakes and your traction control will not work. Look at your wheel bearing hubs and check for these sensors. They are on the underside of the car and are black plastic with a wire comming out of it. A piece of gravel may have broken the pick up or the wires to a sensor may be broken as well. To replace it is usually a couple of screws on the hub assembly and a plug to disconnect from your wire harness.

Why does my ABS light stays on and sometimes i get a vibration in the brake petal causing my 2002 Cadillac escalade not wanting to stop?

The light being on means the system has detected a problem in one or more sensors. The vibration is the ABS modulating the brakes to prevent skidding because it has detected a wheel that is locked up. That wheel is most likely the one sensor that is giving you the error.

I have a 2001 Cadillac Deville with the ABS and Traction Control light stay on. What is the problem. Could I reset the ABS and Traction Control light? If so how could I reset ? Larry

Hello: There are many things that will cause the lights to come on. You can check the brake fluid if it is low that will cause the light to come on. you can clear the code with a up scale scanner but if the problem is not corrected the light will come back on.

How do you service traction control system?

If the traction control system light is on, it could be a wheel speed sensor in the hub.

Is there an ABS light on as well?

Try seeing if any of the codes are set off. On your climate control section with the ignition on hold the off and warmer button and the display will cycle through the codes. Could be a wheel sensor I had a c1225 LF sensor. Could also be a problem with the Wheel speed sensor harness see TSB# 0005-25-003. When I called my dealer about this TSB they didn't know anything about it. If you shut off the car and disengage the traction control, in the glove box, do the codes go away?

Good luck
