The Automatic Gearbox of my 2007 Peugeot 307 1.6 Petrol will start at the morning with a jerky shifting from 1st to 2nd, This is the First problem and it only do that in the morning when its Cold,, the bigger problem is that it will Not take the 1st gear when I stop for Bumps or traffic, after the car gets hot around 90's C, and then when i press the accelerate pedal to move while the car on D the RPM will goes higher as if the car was in Neutral, then it will take the 1st gear with a loud bang.

Hi

check the coolant in the radiator. Once the car is up to temp (engine running), squeeze the top radiator hose, if it is cold, then you have an airlock. Let the engine cool, remove radiator cap and run the engine for 20 minutes, topping up the coolant when it lowers.

The AC might need recharged at the same time with Freon.

could be a gearbox cooler fault if ure engines temperature is 90 degrees thats ok because thats known as operating temperature, ure engine is most efficient at that temperature, however if u have a cooler fault with ure gearbox then this may be causing it to overheat internally and may damage ure gearbox in constant use i would advise having ure gearbox cooler checked.

I own a Peugeot 307 SW 1,6 hdi 2004 which I bought a month and a half ago. It all started with an increasing rattle and sometimes "singing" noise from what i presumed was the gearbox (it`s a manual) and perhaps a bearing problem. At the same time (a week after i bought it) I noticed a small oil leak from beneath the car. After a short examination at the dealer`s we found that there actually was a leak from the gearbox. I got it sorted out and refilled as much as 1,8 l of gear oil (which had leaked out). After that the car works fine, except from a tiny rattle/ singing from the gearbox, especially in combination with gear shifting. I am now concerned that the whole gearbox is going to break down. In case it does, I hope it will happen before 22nd of February (my warranty runs out by then). Glad to hear if you find a solution to your problem, it may have some similarities to mine. PS I`m from Norway, but this or similar problems are not being discussed on Norwegian websites or forums. DS

Engine is difficult to start when cold

1. Check the battery condition, battery state of charge and starter motor current draw. Replace the battery if marginal and the starter motor if the current draw is beyond specification.
2. Check the battery cable condition. Clean the battery terminals and replace corroded or damaged cables.
3. Check the fuel system for proper operation. A fuel pump with insufficient fuel pressure or clogged injectors should be replaced.
4. Check the engine's tune-up status. Note the tune-up specifications and check for items such as severely worn spark plugs; adjust or replace as needed. On vehicles with manually adjusted valve clearances, check for tight valves and adjust to specification.
5. Check for a failed coolant temperature sensor, and replace if out of specification.
6. heck the operation of the engine management systems for fuel and ignition; repair or replace failed components as necessary.

1. Check the air filter and air intake system. Replace the air filter if it is dirty or contaminated. Check the fresh air intake system for restrictions or blockage.
2. Check for loose or deteriorated engine grounds and clean, tighten or replace as needed.
3. Check for needed maintenance. Inspect tune-up and service related items such as spark plugs and engine oil condition, and check the operation of the engine fuel and ignition management system.
