SOURCE: Power antenna motor runs, but antenna doesn't

Fault in the retractor assy. Is the mast bent. If it is gently try to straighten best possible lube with silicone spray. With someone turn off the radio , try manually putting antenna down with the palm of your hand squezzed around mast and forcing. Do the same going up, pull by the end tip ,

SOURCE: 92 buick century power antenna motor wont shut off

Well, even if you pull the connector (under carpet) apart with gray white and green wires(ones seen going to motor from door gap when opened) it still doesn't stop. next access point is from behind mud gaurd in wheel well. If I can't disconnect it from there I will just cut the bloody wires.

SOURCE: 1987 Buick Grand National losing power, changed

Symptoms Like this usually point to the Fuel pump.

Also these cars suffer from inferior wiring to the fuel pumps and a substantial Voltage drop is noted between the Fuel pump relay and the Pump harness.

The fix for this is a "Hotwire" Kit

Fuel pump kits with a Hotwire kit are available at numerous Buick performance Vendors but the best stuff in my opinion come from Racetronix, com

You should also change the Prom Chip in the ECM to a modern
Chip from Turbotweak.
This will improve driveability greatly.

SOURCE: antenna MOTER KEEPS RUNNING DRAINS BATTERY

The internal cable that is embeded inside this antenna is broken in two. Go to your Buick Dealership and get a replacement repair mast fot this antenna. It will be the very top end of the mast with the cable attached to it. You can instead replace the whole antenna which is far more expensive too

SOURCE: 87 buick grand national power antenna went up, but

There is a cable and motor that actuates the antenna, the cables break on these all the time.

you can get replacement cables at nos4gn.com

the passenger fender needs to be removed to access the antenna assembly.

Limp mode removal

Have the fault codes read. Replace faulty items. Use only
genuine items as replacement as non-genuine are not always compatible with the OEM fitted CPU units. This results in the fault codes not cancelling out.

Power antenna keeps running in down position on 1987 Buick Grand National. Is there a fuse I can pull as opposedto disconnecting the battery

Its most likely running because of a broken mast cable.
The ACC fuse powers the antenna. But it also powers the interior lights, door locks, etc..
May just want to go under the dash and find the connector and unplug it.
If you go for an aftermarket replacement mast, not all work.
The cable on that is most likely a smooth cabel with a J hook at the end. Most the aftermarkets have teeth and no hook.
Napa auto parts sells replacements that may work. When the antenna mast did the very same thing on my 89 Camaro I got a replacement from Corvette Central. Pricey for just a top section of the mast but just about all I could find.
Aftermarket antennas are fairly cheap and can work.

you don`t say where they keep breaking.if its around the bolts then you can use a thicker washer this might help.if the tracking system that the seat slides on then if there is room you might be able to weld a re-enforcing plate to the system where it cracks to stop it.

Power antenna motor won't stop running. Do you know where the cutout switch is located?

There is no switch. When the plastic gears inside the power antenna strip out they continue to run because the limiter switch inside the unit never gets tripped. If you can assist the antenna up when it's running, leave it up and disconnect the power to the motor. If i remember correctly the antenna is mounted on the passenger rear quarter panel. You should be able to pull some of the truck trim out a little and disconnect the two or three wire connector.
