Have the vehicle checked for code's . will show what cylinders are missing . Do drive it like that , check engine light flashing , will damage the catalytic converters

SOURCE: 2002 GMC Envoy is having

I ran into this concern with my 2002 and my wife ran into the almost identical problem with her 2003. this may sound silly,, but it was the clutch fan. Extreme loss of power from time to time came first. Then a roar of the what seemed like the engine when stopping. Actually cut off after it started to roar at highway speeds, and had absolutely no excelleration from time to time. Sometimes all of the symptoms completely went away. After taking mine to the dealer several times, finally they got it right and replaced the fan clutch. When my wifes 2003 SLt started doing the exact same thing as my 2002 had done, we both knew what the problem was, and the dealer did a quick fix. $600.00. Perhaps this should have been a recall feature, but never was. Everyone that I know that has an envoy, somewhere around the 72,000 and 103,000 mile mark has had this problem and have had to have the clutch fan replaced. It may sound like the vehicle is going to have to be junked,, but that is all it needs.

SOURCE: Truck losing power and service engine soon light on

Like to other guy said, give it a tuneup. Also try SEAFOAM to clean carb up of slug. Also check to make sure the butter fly for the choke has not come loose, causing it the choke it down. Failed choke pull-off.

SOURCE: Heated seats won't stay on in 2004 GMC Yukon Denali

There is a widespread problem with electrical shorts with the seat warmers. I bought the extended warranty through CarMax and theyy fixed it. Retail repair cost on that would have been $900+. It may be covered by GMC via a recall, but only if you raise enough hell.

SOURCE: at about 4000 RPM the check engine light flashes

Your catylatic converter may be clogged if your loosing power or top speed is less than it was. You can check this when its running with a battery operated infared heat gauge. the temperature of the muffler should be around the same temp. as the catylatic converter.

Take the truck to an Autozone parts store, they might do it other parts stores too, they can read the codes in the computer and let you know what's going on. There sholud be a code stored even though the light is off. I don't know why the fuel level would cause the light to come on.

Have 2002 Yukon that won't start if under 3/8 or 1\4 of gas

hi, the banging on the tank is a typical fuel pump scenario , but to last for years is not very likely , i think it needs to be diagnosed to see what's missing when it wont start .

Gas tank wont' fill to specs

Based upon my experience, I would say it's a manufacturing defect. Something in the filler or the tank itself. I've seen cases where the dealer replaced the tank and related parts when this is happening.

2002 Yukon XL Denali Problem: When idling, goes below 500 RPMs, spits and sputters at idle. No check engine light, spark plugs are one year old. Could it be a sensor??

Most sensors will trigger the check engine light, however the TPS(throttle position sensor) or EGR Valve(exhuast gas recirculation valve) could be potential causes. Does this problem only occur at idle? Is the idle normal in park? Let me know and I can try to assit further.

Hope this helps
